نَحْمَدُ اللهَ عَلَى الخَيْرِ الكَثِيرْ

وَإِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى المَصِيرْ

Waʾilā Allāhi taʿālā al-maṣīr

And to Allah, the Exalted, is the return.

نَحْمَدُ اللهَ عَلَى الخَيْرِ الكَثِيرْنِعْمَةِ التَّوْحِيدِ وَالدِّينِ اليَسِيرْ

Naḥmadu Allāha ʿalā al-khayri al-kathīr, Niʿmati at-tawḥīdi wa-ad-dīni al-yasīr

We praise Allah for the abundant good, the blessing of tawhid and the easy religion,

وَرَسُولٍ جَاءَ بِالحَقِّ بَشِيرْوَنَذِيراً بِالكِتَابِ المُسْتَنِيرْ

Warasūlin jāʾa bi-al-ḥaqqi bashīr, Wanadhīran bi-al-kitābi al-mustanīr

And a Messenger who came with the truth, bearing glad tidings and warning with the illuminating Book.

أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَطِيعُوا وَاسْمَعُواوَاسْتَجِيبُوا وَاسْتَقِيمُوا وَاتْبَعُوا

Ayyuhā an-nāsu aṭīʿū wasmaʿū, Wastajībū wastaqīmū watbaʿū

O people, obey and listen, respond, be upright and follow,

وَإِلَى اللهِ أَنِيبُوا وَاسْرِعُواقَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيكُمُ اليَوْمُ العَسِيرْ

Waʾilā Allāhi anībū wasriʿū, Qabla an yaʾtīkumu al-yawmu al-ʿasīr

Turn in repentance to Allah and hasten, before the hard Day comes upon you.

ظَهَرَ الحَقُّ فَلَمْ يَبْقَ ارْتِيَابْوَبَدَتْ شَمْسُ الهِدَايَهْ وَالصَّوَابْ

Ẓahara al-ḥaqqu falam yabqa rtiyāb, Wabadat shamsu al-hidāyah wa-aṣ-ṣawāb

The truth has appeared, and no doubt remains; the sun of guidance and rightness has risen.

فَانْهَضُوا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يُرْخَى الحِجَابْوَاعْمَلُوا لِلْخُلْدِ فِي اليَوْمِ القَصِيرْ

Fanhaḍū min qabli an yurkhā al-ḥijāb, Waʿmalū lilkhuldi fī al-yawmi al-qaṣīr

So rise before the veil is let down, and work for eternity in this short day.

وَاسْتَعِدُّوا لِمُلَاقَاةِ العَظِيمْبِامْتِثَالِ الأَمْرِ وَالقَلْبِ السَّلِيمْ

Wastaʿiddū limulāqāti al-ʿaẓīm, Bimtithāli al-ʾamri wa-al-qalbi as-salīm

Prepare to meet the Mighty One by obeying the command with a sound heart,

وَاجْتِنَابِ النَّهْيِ وَالفِعْلِ الذَّمِيمْوَاحْذَرُوا عِصْيَانَ ذِي العَرْشِ القَدِيرْ

Wajtinābi an-nahyi wa-al-fiʿli adh-dhamīm, Waḥdharū ʿiṣyāna dhī al-ʿarshi al-qadīr

And avoiding what is forbidden and every blameworthy deed; beware of disobeying the Powerful Lord of the Throne.

أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا دَارَ الفَنَاوَاحْذَرُوهَا إِنَّهَا رَأْسُ العَنَا

Ayyuhā an-nāsu ttaqū dāra al-fanā, Waḥdharūhā innahā raʾsu al-ʿanā

O people, beware the abode of passing away; be wary of it, for it is the root of toil,

وَاطْلُبُوا دَارَ الكَرَامَهْ وَالهَنَاوَالنَّعِيمِ المَحْضِ وَالمُلْكِ الكَبِيرْ

Waṭlubū dāra al-karāmah wa-al-hanā, Wa-an-naʿīmi al-maḥḍi wa-al-mulki al-kabīr

And seek the abode of honour and happiness, of pure bliss and a great kingdom.

كَيْفَ تَرْضَوْنَ بِدُنْيَا لَا تَدُومْحُشِيَتْ شُغْلاً وَبُؤْساً وَهُمُومْ

Kayfa tarḍawna bidunyā lā tadūm, Ḥushiyat shughlan wabuʾsan wahumūm

How can you be content with a world that does not last, filled with distraction, misery and worries,

وَعَنَاءً وَبَلَاءً وَغُمُومْفَارْفُضُوهَا إِنَّهَا النَّزْرُ الحَقِيرْ

Waʿanāʾan wabalāʾan waghumūm, Farfuḍūhā innahā an-nazru al-ḥaqīr

With toil, affliction and griefs? Reject it, for it is meagre and contemptible.

أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أَطِيعُوا مَنْ خَلَقْوَتَفَضَّلْ وَتَطَوَّلْ وَرَزَقْ

Ayyuhā an-nāsu aṭīʿū man khalaq, Watafaḍḍal wataṭawwal warazaq

O people, obey the One who created, who bestowed favour and bounty and provided,

وَتَوَحَّدْ وَتَفَرَّدْ وَاسْتَحَقْكُلَّ حَمْدٍ وَتَقَدَّسْ عَنْ نَظِيرْ

Watawaḥḥad watafarrad wastaḥaq, Kulla ḥamdin wataqaddas ʿan naẓīr

Who is One and Unique and is worthy of all praise, holy beyond any equal.
