بشرى لنا

بُشْرَى لَنَا نِلْنَا الْمُنَىزَالَ الْعَنَا وَافَى الْهَنَا (٢)

Bushrā lanā nilnā al-munā, Zāla al-ʿanā wāfā al-hanā ()

Glad tidings! We have attained our heart's desire; hardship has vanished, and bliss has arrived.

وَالدَّهْرُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُوَالْبِشْرُ أَضْحَى مُعْلَنَا

Wa-ad-dahru anjaza waʿdahu, Wa-al-bishru aḍḥā muʿlanā

Time has fulfilled its promise, and joy is now openly proclaimed.

يَا نَفْسُ طِيْبِي بِاللِّقَا

Yā nafsu ṭiybī bi-al-liqā

O soul, rejoice in the meeting

يَا عَيْنُ قَرِّي أَعْيُنَا (٢)

Yā ʿaynu qarrī aʿyunā ()

O eye, find true delight

هٰذَا جَمَالُ الْمُصْطَفَى

Hādhā jamaālu al-muṣṭafā

This is the beauty of Al-Mustafa

أَنْوَارُهُ لَاحَتْ لَنَا

Anwāruhu lāḥat lanā

His lights have shone upon us

يَا طَيْبَةُ مَاذَا نَقُولْ

Yā ṭaybatu mādhā naqūl

O Taybah, what can we say?

وَفِيكِ قَدْ حَلَّ الرَّسُولْ (٢)

Wafīki qad ḥalla ar-rasūl ()

For the Messenger has settled within you

وَكُلُّنَا نَرْجُو الْوُصُولْ

Wakullunā narjū al-wuṣūl

And we all hope to reach

لِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّنَا

Limuḥammadin nabiyyinā

Muhammad, our Prophet

يَا رَوْضَةَ الْهَادِي الشَّفِيعْ (٢)

Yā rawḍata al-hādī ash-shafīʿ ()

O Garden of the Guide and Intercessor

وَصَاحِبَيْهِ وَالْبَقِيعْ

Waṣāḥibayhi wa-al-baqīʿ

And of his two companions and Al-Baqi'

اُكْتُبْ لَنَا نَحْنُ الْجَمِيعْ

Uktub lanā naḥnu al-jamīʿ

Decree for us—for all of us—

زِيَارَةً لِحَبِيبِنَا

Ziyāratan liḥabībinā

A visit to our Beloved

حَيْثُ الْأَمَانِي رَوْضُهَا

Ḥaythu al-ʾamānī rawḍuhā

Where the garden of hopes

قَدْ ظَلَّ حُلْوَ الْمُجْتَبَى (٢)

Qad ẓalla ḥulwa al-mujtabā ()

Remains sweet through the Chosen One

وَبِالْحَبِيْبِ الْمُصْطَفَى

Wabiālḥabiybi al-muṣṭafā

And through the Beloved, Al-Mustafa

صَفَا وَطَابَ عَيْشُنَا

Ṣafā waṭāba ʿayshunā

Our life has become pure and delightful

صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ دَائِمًا

Ṣallā ʿalayhi dāʾiman

May our Lord send blessings upon him always

فِي كُلِّ حِينٍ رَبُّنَا (٢)

Fī kulli ḥīnin rabbunā ()

At every moment

وَآلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ

Waʾālihi waṣaḥbihi

And upon his family and his companions

أَهْلِ الْمَعَانِي وَالْوَفَا

Ahli al-maʿānī wa-al-wafā

People of noble qualities and faithfulness
