Ḥuyyīta yā marbaʿa al-ʾaḥbāb, Bi-as-safḥi min wādī as-sidri

May you be greeted, O haunt of the beloveds, on the hillside of the valley of lote trees,

Its graceful, shy maidens of equal age, modest of glance in their curtained chambers,

Wa-as-sādati al-qādati al-ʾanjāb, Marfūʿī al-qadri wa-adh-dhikri

And its noble masters and leaders, exalted in rank and in renown.

Yā wādiya ar-rawḥ wa-ar-raḥmah, Wa-an-nūr wa-al-khayr wa-al-ʾalṭāf

O valley of rest and mercy, of light, goodness and kindnesses,

Wa-al-khiṣb wa-al-yusr wa-an-niʿmah, Mustawṭani as-sādati al-ʾashrāf

Of fertility, ease and blessing, homeland of the noble masters,

Ahli al-murūʾāt wa-al-himmah, Wa-al-jūdi wa-al-faḍli wa-al-ʾinṣāf

People of chivalry and aspiration, of generosity, virtue and fairness:

Saqāka yā wādiya al-wahhāb, Bikulli mughdawdiqin ghamri

May the Bestower water you, O valley, with every abundant, overflowing cloud.

Wādī bni rāshid munā qalbī, Warāḥatu ar-rūḥ wa-al-khāṭir

The valley of Ibn Rashid is my heart's wish, the rest of my spirit and my mind.

Lā zāl maṭlūl bi-as-suḥbi, Maṭlūl min ṣayyibi al-māṭir

May it ever be watered by the clouds, watered by the pouring rain,

Mukhḍarra bi-az-zarʿ wa-al-ʿushbi, Yarūqu lilnnafsi wa-an-nāẓir

Green with crops and grass, delighting the soul and the eye,

Maʿmūr bi-al-ʿilmi wa-al-ʾādāb, Wa-al-ʿadli wa-al-birri wa-ash-shukri

Flourishing with knowledge and refinement, with justice, piety and gratitude.

Qad kunta yā wādiya al-ʾanwār, Mashḥūn bi-al-khayri wa-al-ʾakhyār

You were, O valley of lights, filled with goodness and good people,

Khāli ʿani ash-shūshi wa-al-ʾakdār, Mā taḥwī ash-sharra wa-al-ʾashrār

Free of confusion and troubles, holding neither evil nor evildoers,

Ḥattā dahānā zamānu al-ʿār, Bikhalfi sūʾin mina al-ʾaghmār

Until a shameful time struck us with wicked successors from among the ignorant,

Min kulli maftūn bi-al-ʾasbāb, Khālin ʿani al-ḥaqqi wa-aṣ-ṣabri

Every one infatuated with worldly means, empty of truth and patience.

Hum shawwashū ʿaysha wādīnā, Bi-aẓ-ẓulmi wa-al-baghyi wa-al-ʿudwān

They troubled the life of our valley with injustice, transgression and aggression,

Wakaddarū ṣafwa nādīnā, Bi-al-ḥirṣi wa-ash-shuḥḥi wa-aṭ-ṭughyān

And muddied the purity of our gathering with greed, avarice and tyranny.

Yā sayyida ar-rusli hādīnā, Hayyā bighārah ilaynā al-ʾān

O master of the messengers, our guide, come with a rescue to us now!

Yā himmata as-sādati al-ʾaqṭāb, Maʿādini aṣ-ṣidqi wa-as-sirri

O aspiration of the masters, the poles, mines of truthfulness and of the secret!

Nādi al-muhājir ṣafiyya Allāh, Dhāka bna ʿīsā abā as-sādāt

Call al-Muhajir, the chosen one of Allah, Ibn 'Isa, father of the masters,

Thumma al-muqaddam waliyya Allāh, Ghawtha al-warā qudwata al-qādāt

Then al-Muqaddam, the friend of Allah, succour of creation, exemplar of leaders,

Thumma al-wajīha lidīni Allāh, Saqqāfanā khāriqa al-ʿādāt

Then the eminent one in the religion of Allah, our al-Saqqaf, who broke the bounds of the ordinary,

Wa-as-sayyida al-kāmila al-ʾawwāb, Al-ʿaydarūs maẓhara al-quṭri

And the perfect master, ever turning to Allah, Al-'Aydarus, the glory of the land.

Qūmū binā wakshifū ʿannā, Yā sādatī hadhihi al-ʾaswā

Rise for us and lift from us, O my masters, these evils,

Waḥmū madīnatakumu al-ghannā, Min jumlati ash-sharri wa-al-balwā

And protect your flourishing city from all evil and affliction,

Yā ahla al-ḥasab wa-an-nasab al-ʾasnā, Wa-al-ʿilmi wa-al-ḥilmi wa-at-taqwā

O people of the most sublime lineage and descent, of knowledge, forbearance and piety!

Bijaddikum wabikum tanjāb, Suḥbu al-baliyyāti wa-aḍ-ḍurri

Through your grandfather and through you are dispelled the clouds of calamities and harm.
