حَيِّ حَيَّ لَيَالِ الوَصْلِ فِي وَادِي الغِيدْ

حَيِّ حَيَّ لَيَالِ الوَصْلِ فِي وَادِي الغِيدْوَادِي الخَيْرْ وَالرَّحْمَهْ وَكَمْ جِيدْ مِنْ جِيدْ

Ḥayyi ḥayya layāli al-waṣli fī wādī al-ghīd, Wādī al-khayr wa-ar-raḥmah wakam jīd min jīd

Greet, greet the nights of union in the valley of the fair, the valley of good and mercy, with so many a lovely neck,

ضِمْنَ تِلْكَ الضَّرَايِحْ وَالمَقَابِرْ بِعَيْدِيدْالمُحِبِّينَ لِلَّهْ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ لَهُمْ عِيدْ

Ḍimna tilka aḍ-ḍarāyiḥ wa-al-maqābir biʿaydīd, Al-muḥibbīna lillāh kulla yawmin lahum ʿīd

Within those shrines and graves at 'Idid, the lovers of Allah, for whom every day is a festival,

مِنْ رِجَالِ العُلُومِ الثَّابِتَهْ بِالأَسَانِيدْوَالمَعَارِفْ وَالأَعْمَالِ الصَّحِيحَهْ بِتَأْكِيدْ

Min rijāli al-ʿulūmi ath-thābitah bi-al-ʾasānīd, Wa-al-maʿārif wa-al-ʾaʿmāli aṣ-ṣaḥīḥah bitaʾkīd

Men of knowledge established by chains of transmission, of gnosis and sound deeds, firmly grounded,

وَالسِّيَاحَهْ بِالأَوْدِي وَالمَفَاوِزْ وَبِالبِيدْفِي تَرِيمِ المَدِينَهْ كَمْ هُمَامٍ وَصِنْدِيدْ

Wa-as-siyāḥah bi-al-ʾawdī wa-al-mafāwiz wabi-al-bīd, Fī tarīmi al-madīnah kam humāmin waṣindīd

Of wandering through valleys, wastes and deserts; in the city of Tarim, how many a noble and valiant one,

أَهْلِ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ الطَّاهِرِينَ المَحَامِيدْكُلُّ مَنْ حَبَّهُمْ يِبْشِرْ بِنُصْرَهْ وَتَأْيِيدْ

Ahli bayti an-nabiyyi aṭ-ṭāhirīna al-maḥāmīd, Kullu man ḥabbahum yibshir binuṣrah wataʾyīd

The people of the Prophet's House, the pure and praiseworthy! Everyone who loves them receives glad tidings of help and support,

وَالسَّعَادَهْ وَيَحْظَى مِنْ إِلَهِهْ بِتَسْدِيدْوَالَّذِي يِبْغَضَ أَهْلَ البَيْتِ يِبْشِرْ بِتَنْكِيدْ

Wa-as-saʿādah wayaḥẓā min ilahih bitasdīd, Walladhī yibghaḍa ahla al-bayti yibshir bitankīd

Of happiness, and is granted right guidance by his God; and whoever hates the People of the House receives tidings of misery,

فِي حَيَاتِهْ وَفِي قَبْرِهْ عُقُوبَهْ وَتَشْدِيدْيَا أَهْلَ بَيْتِ النَّبِي أَيْنَ الذِّمَمْ وَالمَوَاعِيدْ

Fī ḥayātih wafī qabrih ʿuqūbah watashdīd, Yā ahla bayti an-nabī ayna adh-dhimam wa-al-mawāʿīd

Of punishment and severity in his life and in his grave. O People of the Prophet's House, where are the pledges and promises?

أَيْنَ تَخْوِيفُكُمْ بِالمُجْتَرِينَ المَنَاكِيدْيَا الفَقِيهَ المُقَدَّمْ سَيِّدَ السَّادَةِ الصِّيدْ

Ayna takhwīfukum bi-al-mujtarīna al-manākīd, Yā al-faqīha al-muqaddam sayyida as-sādati aṣ-ṣīd

Where is your warning to the wretched transgressors? O al-Faqih al-Muqaddam, master of the noble masters,

وَادْعُ عَلْوِي وَنَجْلَهْ وَالوَجِيهَ الَّذِي زِيدْوَالمُسَمَّى عُمَرْ مِحْضَارْ يَا نِعْمَ مِنْ سِيدْ

Wadʿu ʿalwī wanajlah wa-al-wajīha al-ladhī zīd, Wa-al-musammā ʿumar miḥḍār yā niʿma min sīd

Call on 'Alawi and his son, and al-Wajih who was raised high, and the one named 'Umar al-Mihdar: what a master!

وَابْنَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَبْدَ اللهِ عَزِيزَ المَوَاجِيدْهَيَّا هَيَّا بِكُمْ غَارَهْ تُذِيبُ الجَلَامِيدْ

Wabna abī bakrin ʿabda Allāhi ʿazīza al-mawājīd, Hayyā hayyā bikum ghārah tudhību al-jalāmīd

And 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Bakr, of precious spiritual states: come, come with a rescue that melts the boulders!

أَسْرِعُوا أَسْرِعُوا غَارَهْ تُطَفِّي المَوَاقِيدْأَسْرِعُوا أَسْرِعُوا غَارَهْ تَحُلُّ المَعَاقِيدْ

Asriʿū asriʿū ghārah tuṭaffī al-mawāqīd, Asriʿū asriʿū ghārah taḥullu al-maʿāqīd

Hasten, hasten with a rescue that puts out the fires! Hasten, hasten with a rescue that unties the knots,

قَبْلَ لَا يَشْمَتُونَ الحَاسِدُونَ المَحَاقِيدْيَا آلَ عَلْوِي أَدْرِكُوا مِنْ قَبْلِ فُرْقَهْ وَتَبْدِيدْ

Qabla lā yashmatūna al-ḥāsidūna al-maḥāqīd, Yā ʾāla ʿalwī adrikū min qabli furqah watabdīd

Before the envious and the spiteful gloat! O family of 'Alawi, come to our aid before division and dispersion,

فَإِنَّ فِيكُمْ مَفَاتِيحَ الهُدَى وَالمَقَالِيدْفَضْلُ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَالأَمْرُ لِلَّهِ تَوْحِيدْ

Faʾinna fīkum mafātīḥa al-hudā wa-al-maqālīd, Faḍlu min rabbikum wa-al-ʾamru lillāhi tawḥīd

For in you are the keys of guidance and its reins, a favour from your Lord, and the command belongs to Allah alone.

نَحْمَدُهْ نَشْكُرُهْ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَصْرٍ وَتَعْدِيدْثُمَّ صَلُّوا عَلَى الهَادِي مُحَمَّدْ بِتَرْدِيدْ

Naḥmaduh nashkuruh min ghayri ḥaṣrin wataʿdīd, Thumma ṣallū ʿalā al-hādī muḥammad bitardīd

We praise Him and thank Him without limit or count; then send blessings upon the guide Muhammad again and again,

مَا اسْتَهَلَّتْ حَمَامَاتُ الحِمَى بِالتَّغَارِيدْأَوْ شَرَى البَرْقُ فِي الدَّاجِي عَلَى شِعْبِ عَيْدِيدْ

Mā stahallat ḥamāmātu al-ḥimā bi-at-taghārīd, Aw sharā al-barqu fī ad-dājī ʿalā shiʿbi ʿaydīd

As long as the doves of the sanctuary burst into song, or lightning flashes in the dark over the ravine of 'Idid.
