أَقُولُ لِلنَّاظِمِ المُجِيدِ

أَقُولُ لِلنَّاظِمِ المُجِيدِظَفِرْتَ بِالخَيْرِ وَالمَزِيدِ

Aqūlu lilnnāẓimi al-mujīdi, Ẓafirta bi-al-khayri wa-al-mazīdi

I say to the skilled poet: you have won good, and more besides.

وَقَابَلَتْكَ لَطَائِفُ اللهِالوَاحِدِ المَاجِدِ الوَدُودِ

Waqābalatka laṭāʾifu Allāhi, Al-wāḥidi al-mājidi al-wadūdi

The kindnesses of Allah have met you, the One, the Glorious, the Loving.

أَبْشِرْ بِنُورٍ وَشَرْحِ صَدْرٍلِلْحَقِّ وَالحِفْظِ لِلْعُهُودِ

Abshir binūrin washarḥi ṣadrin, Lilḥaqqi wa-al-ḥifẓi lilʿuhūdi

Rejoice in light and an opening of the breast to the truth, and the keeping of covenants,

وَاللُّطْفِ وَالعَوْنِ ثُمَّ رِزْقٍمُهَنَّأٍ طَيِّبٍ رَغِيدِ

Wa-al-luṭfi wa-al-ʿawni thumma rizqin, Muhannaʾin ṭayyibin raghīdi

In gentleness and help, and then a provision wholesome, good and plentiful,

بِمَدْحِكَ القَوْمَ صَفْوَةَ اللهِسَادَاتُنَا زِينَةُ الوُجُودِ

Bimadḥika al-qawma ṣafwata Allāhi, Sādātunā zīnatu al-wujūdi

For your praise of the folk, the elect of Allah, our masters, the adornment of existence,

أَئِمَّةُ الدِّينِ وَالأَدِلَّاعَلَى الهُدَى خِيرَةُ المَجِيدِ

Aʾimmatu ad-dīni wa-al-ʾadillā, ʿalā al-hudā khīratu al-majīdi

The imams of religion, the guides to right guidance, the chosen of the Glorious,

بُحُورُ عِلْمٍ جِبَالُ حِلْمٍأَهْلُ المَعَارِفِ وَالشُّهُودِ

Buḥūru ʿilmin jibālu ḥilmin, Ahlu al-maʿārifi wa-ash-shuhūdi

Oceans of knowledge, mountains of forbearance, the people of gnosis and witnessing,

مِنْ بَضْعَةِ المُصْطَفَى اليَمَانِيمُحَمَّدِ الحَامِدِ الحَمِيدِ

Min baḍʿati al-muṣṭafā al-yamānī, Muḥammadi al-ḥāmidi al-ḥamīdi

Of Yemen, from the flesh of the Chosen One, Muhammad, the praising, the praised.

عَلَيْهِ أَزْكَى الصَّلَاةِ دَأْباًمَا غَنَّتِ الوُرْقُ فِي زَرُودِ

ʿalayhi azkā aṣ-ṣalāti daʾban, Mā ghannati al-wurqu fī zarūdi

Upon him be the purest blessings continually, as long as the grey doves sing at Zarud.
