Yammim Nahwa al-Madina Tara al-Anwar

Yammim naḥwa al-madīna tarā al-ʾanwār, Waqṣud ḥimā nabiyyinā ṭaha al-mukhtār

Head toward Medina and you will see the lights; make for the sanctuary of our Prophet, Taha the Chosen.

Muḥammad yā abā az-zahrā narjū naẓra, Arā al-qubbata al-khaḍrā laylan wanahār

Muhammad, O father of al-Zahra', we hope for a glance, that I may see the Green Dome by night and by day.

Muḥammad yā abā al-qāsim innī hāʾim, ʿasā taqbalniy khādim anā wa-al-ḥuḍḍār

Muhammad, O father of al-Qasim, I am distraught; perhaps you will accept me as a servant, I and all who are present.

Famdud yadak wa-al-bāʿā wa-adh-dhirāʿā, Waṭlub minhu ash-shafāʿa waqta al-ʾasḥār

So stretch out your hand, your span and your arm, and ask him for intercession in the hours before dawn.

Waqif ḥawla aḍ-ḍarīḥi yā faṣīḥi, Waghsil qalba al-jarīḥi mina al-ʾakdār

And stand by the tomb, O eloquent one, and wash the wounded heart of its troubles.
