Ya Jamaluh

ʾāh yā jamāluh yā jamāluh, Sīdnā an-nabī yā jamāluh

Ah, his beauty, his beauty! Our master the Prophet, ah, his beauty!

Kaḥīlu aṭ-ṭarfi ḥabībī law tarāhu, Ḍaḥūku as-sinni lilʿāshiqi ramāhu

Kohl-eyed is my beloved, if only you could see him; smiling, he has struck the lover's heart.

Bahiyyu aṭ-ṭalʿa fa-al-mawlā ṣṭafāhu, Wakullu al-khalqi anāra binūri ṭaha

Radiant of face, and so the Master chose him, and all creation was lit by the light of Taha.

Walā ẓilla lahu bal kāna nuwrā, Tanālu ash-shamsu minhu huwa al-buduwra

He cast no shadow, for he was light; the sun and the full moons draw their light from him.

Walam yakuni al-hudā lawlāhu ẓuhuwrā, Wakullu al-kawni anāra binuwri ṭaha

Guidance would never have appeared but for him, and all creation was lit by the light of Taha.

Wakaffu al-muṣṭafā ka-al-wardi nādī, Waʿiṭruhā yabqā idhā massat ayādī

The hand of the Chosen One is like a dewy rose; its fragrance lingers when it touches other hands,

Waʿamma nawāluhā kulla al-ʿibādi, Ḥabību Allāhi yā khayra al-barāyā

And its bounty reached all of Allah's servants; beloved of Allah, O best of creation!

Warīqu al-muṣṭafā yashfī al-ʿalīla, Waʿaynu qatādata khudhhā dalīlan

The saliva of the Chosen One heals the sick; take the eye of Qatada as proof.

Tafala fī al-biʾri aḍḥat salsabīlan, Waṣāra liṣaḥbihi shahdan mudāman

He spat into the well and it became a sweet spring, and it became for his Companions like honey and wine.
