Ya Hanana bi-Muhammad

Yā hanānā yā hanānā, Yā hanānā yā hanānā

Oh, our joy, oh, our joy! Oh, our joy, oh, our joy!

Ẓahara ad-dīnu al-muʾayyad, Biẓuhūri an-nabī aḥmad

The religion, divinely supported, appeared with the appearance of the Prophet Ahmad.

Yā hanānā bimuḥammad, Dhalika al-faḍlu mina Allāh

Oh, our joy in Muhammad! That is the bounty from Allah.

Khuṣṣa bi-as-sabʿi al-mathānī, Waḥawā luṭfa al-maʿānī

He was singled out for the Seven Oft-Repeated, and encompassed subtle meanings.

Mā lahu fī al-khalqi thānī, Waʿalayhi anzala Allāh

He has no equal in creation, and upon him Allah sent down revelation.

Min makkata lammā ẓahar, Liʾajlihi nshaqqa al-qamar

From Mecca, when he appeared, for his sake the moon was split,

Waftakharat ʾālu muḍar, Bihi ʿalā kulli al-ʾanāmi

And the family of Mudar took pride in him above all mankind.

Aṭyabu an-nāsi khalqan, Waʾajallu an-nāsi khulqan

The finest of people in form, the noblest of people in character,

Dhikruhu gharban washarqan, Sāʾirun wa-al-ḥamdu lillāh

His mention, west and east, travels on; and praise be to Allah.

Ṣallū ʿalā khayri al-ʾanāmi, Al-muṣṭafā badri at-tamāmi

Send blessings on the best of mankind, the Chosen One, the full moon,

Ṣallū ʿalayhi wasallimū, Yashfaʿ lanā yawma az-ziḥāmi

Send blessings and peace upon him, that he may intercede for us on the Day of the Throng.
