يَا عَيْنَ الرَّحْمَةْ مُحَمَّدْ

يَا عَيْنَ الرَّحْمَةْ مُحَمَّدْيَا عَيْنَ الرَّحْمَةْ مُحَمَّدْ

Yā ʿayna ar-raḥma muḥammad, Yā ʿayna ar-raḥma muḥammad

O source of mercy, Muhammad, O source of mercy, Muhammad!

أَنْتُمْ فُرُوضِي وَنَفْلِيأَنْتُمْ حَدِيثِي وَشُغْلِي

Antum furūḍī wanaflī, Antum ḥadīthī washughlī

You are my obligatory and my voluntary prayers, you are my talk and my occupation,

يَا قِبْلَتِي فِي صَلَاتِيإِذَا وَقَفْتُ أُصَلِّي

Yā qiblatī fī ṣalātī, Idhā waqaftu uṣallī

O my qibla in my prayer when I stand to pray.

جَمَالُكُمْ نُصْبَ عَيْنِيإِلَيْهِ وَجَّهْتُ كُلِّي

Jamālukum nuṣba ʿaynī, Ilayhi wajjahtu kullī

Your beauty is before my eyes; toward it I have turned all of myself.

وَسِرُّكُمْ فِي ضَمِيرِيوَالقَلْبُ طُورُ التَّجَلِّي

Wasirrukum fī ḍamīrī, Wa-al-qalbu ṭūru at-tajallī

Your secret is in my inmost heart, and the heart is the mount of manifestation.

آنَسْتُ فِي الْحَيِّ نَاراًلَيْلاً فَبَشَّرْتُ أَهْلِي

ʾānastu fī al-ḥayyi nāran, Laylan fabashshartu ahlī

I perceived a fire in the encampment by night, and gave glad tidings to my family.

قُلْتُ امْكُثُوا فَلَعَلِّيأَجِدْ هُدَايَ لَعَلِّي

Qultu mkuthū falaʿallī, Ajid hudāya laʿallī

I said: "Stay here; perhaps I will find my guidance, perhaps."

دَنَوْتُ مِنْهَا فَكَانَتْنَارُ الْمُكَلَّمِ قَبْلِي

Danawtu minhā fakānat, Nāru al-mukallami qablī

I drew near it, and it was the fire of the one spoken to, before me.

نُودِيتُ مِنْهَا جِهَاراًرُدُّوا لَيَالِيَ وَصْلِي

Nūdītu minhā jihāran, Ruddū layāliya waṣlī

I was called from it openly: "Bring back the nights of my union!"

حَتَّى إِذَا مَا تَدَانَى الْمِيقَاتُ فِي جَمْعِ شَمْلِي

Ḥattā idhā mā tadānā al-, Mīqātu fī jamʿi shamlī

Until, when the appointed time for gathering my scattered self drew near,

صَارَتْ جِبَالِي دَكّاًمِنْ هَيْبَةِ الْمُتَجَلِّي

Ṣārat jibālī dakkan, Min haybati al-mutajallī

My mountains were crushed to dust from awe of the One who manifested,

وَلَاحَ سِرٌّ خَفِيٌّيَدْرِيهِ مَنْ كَانَ مِثْلِي

Walāḥa sirrun khafiyyun, Yadrīhi man kāna mithlī

And a hidden secret appeared, known to whoever is like me,

وَصِرْتُ مُوسَى زَمَانِيمُذْ صَارَ بَعْضِيَ كُلِّي

Waṣirtu mūsā zamānī, Mudh ṣāra baʿḍiya kullī

And I became the Moses of my time when my part became my whole.

فَالْمَوْتُ فِيهِ حَيَاتِيوَفِي حَيَاتِيَ قَتْلِي

Fa-al-mawtu fīhi ḥayātī, Wafī ḥayātiya qatlī

Death in it is my life, and in my life is my slaying.

أَنَا الْفَقِيرُ الْمُعَنَّىرِقُّوا لِحَالِي وَذُلِّي

Anā al-faqīru al-muʿannā, Riqqū liḥālī wadhullī

I am the poor, suffering one; be tender to my state and my humility.

كُلُّ مَنْ زَارَ المَقَامَفَالنَّبِي رَدَّ السَّلَامَ

Kullu man zāra al-maqāma, Fa-an-nabī radda as-salāma

Everyone who visits the station, the Prophet returns his greeting;

يَعْرِفُ الخَلْقَ تَمَامَاأَبْشِرُو زُوَّارْ مُحَمَّدْ

Yaʿrifu al-khalqa tamāmā, Abshirū zuwwār muḥammad

He knows the creatures fully; rejoice, visitors of Muhammad!

وَجْهُهُ فَاقَ البُدُورَازَادَهُ المَوْلَى سُرُورَا

Wajhuhu fāqa al-budūrā, Zādahu al-mawlā surūrā

His face surpassed the full moons; the Master increased his joy.

قَدْ بَدَا فِي الكَوْنِ نُورَاقَبْلَ خَلْقِ الله مُحَمَّدْ

Qad badā fī al-kawni nūrā, Qabla khalqi Allāh muḥammad

He appeared in creation as light before Allah's creation: Muhammad.
