يَا أَبَا الزَّهْرَاء

يَا أَبَا الزَّهْرَاءْ بِالَّذِي صَانَكْلَا تُخَيِّبْنَا يَا سِيدِي نِحْنُ جِيرَانَكْ

Yā abā az-zahrāʾ billadhī ṣānak, Lā tukhayyibnā yā sīdī niḥnu jīrānak

O father of al-Zahra', by the One who protected you, do not disappoint us, my master; we are your neighbours.

رَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانْ مَا بَيْنَ الخِلَّانْجَنَّةُ الرِّضْوَانْ يَا سِيدِي فِي حَضْرَتِنَا

Rawḥun warayḥān mā bayna al-khillān, Jannatu ar-riḍwān yā sīdī fī ḥaḍratinā

Rest and sweet basil among the friends: the Garden of Ridwan, my master, is in our gathering.

حَضْرَةُ القُدُّوسْ مَحْيَا لِلنُّفُوسْجَنَّةُ الفِرْدَوْسْ يَا سِيدِي تَحْتَاجْ إِلَيْنَا

Ḥaḍratu al-quddūs maḥyā lilnnufūs, Jannatu al-firdaws yā sīdī taḥtāj ilaynā

The Presence of the Holy revives souls; the Garden of Firdaws, my master, has need of us.

مِنْ خَمْرِ العِرْفَانْ سُقِينَا كِيزَانْمِنْ يَدِ الوِلْدَانْ يَا سِيدِي مُخَلَّدِينَا

Min khamri al-ʿirfān suqīnā kīzān, Min yadi al-wildān yā sīdī mukhalladīnā

Of the wine of gnosis we have been given jugs to drink from the hands of the immortal youths, my master.

أَهْلُ الحَقَائِقْ بَيْنَ الحَدَائِقْعَلَى نَمَارِقْ يَا سِيدِي مُتَّكِئِينَا

Ahlu al-ḥaqāʾiq bayna al-ḥadāʾiq, ʿalā namāriq yā sīdī muttakiʾīnā

The people of realities, among the gardens, recline, my master, upon cushions.

حَالُ العَارِفِينْ مُتَقَابِلِينْعَلَى سُرُرٍ يَا سِيدِي مُسْتَبْشِرِينَا

Ḥālu al-ʿārifīn mutaqābilīn, ʿalā sururin yā sīdī mustabshirīnā

The state of the gnostics: facing one another on couches, my master, rejoicing.

أَبْنَاءُ الحَضْرَةْ لَهُمُ البُشْرَىمِنْ قَبْلِ الأُخْرَى يَا سِيدِي مُعَزَّزِينَا

Abnāʾu al-ḥaḍra lahumu al-bushrā, Min qabli al-ʾukhrā yā sīdī muʿazzazīnā

The sons of the Presence have glad tidings before the Hereafter, my master, honoured.

لَهُمُ احْتِرَامْ فِي كُلِّ العَالَمْوَعِنْدَ الكِرَامْ يَا سِيدِي الكَاتِبِينَا

Lahumu ḥtirām fī kulli al-ʿālam, Waʿinda al-kirām yā sīdī al-kātibīnā

They are respected throughout the world, and by the noble scribes, my master.

عِبَادُ الرَّحْمٰنْ فِي كُلِّ زَمَانْلَهُمُ الأَمَانْ يَا سِيدِي مُطْمَئِنِّينَا

ʿibādu ar-raḥmān fī kulli zamān, Lahumu al-ʾamān yā sīdī muṭmaʾinnīnā

The servants of the Most Merciful in every age have safety, my master, at peace.

لَهُمُ افْتِخَارْ عَنْ كُلِّ البَشَرْفَهُمُ الأَحْبَارْ يَا سِيدِي الوَارِثِينَا

Lahumu ftikhār ʿan kulli al-bashar, Fahumu al-ʾaḥbār yā sīdī al-wārithīnā

They have a distinction above all humanity, for they are the scholars, my master, the heirs.

فَهُمُ الأَبْدَالْ لَهُمُ الإِقْبَالْنُوَّابُ الإِرْسَالْ يَا سِيدِي فِي العَالَمِينَا

Fahumu al-ʾabdāl lahumu al-ʾiqbāl, Nuwwābu al-ʾirsāl yā sīdī fī al-ʿālamīnā

They are the substitutes, theirs is acceptance, deputies of the message, my master, among the worlds.

لَهُمُ الهَيْبَةْ بَهَاءُ النِّسْبَةْسِمَةُ القُرْبَى تُرَى عَلَيْنَا

Lahumu al-hayba bahāʾu an-nisba, Simatu al-qurbā turā ʿalaynā

Theirs is awe and the splendour of the lineage; the mark of nearness is seen upon us.

نَحْنُ الأَسَائِدْ لَنَا شَوَاهِدْكُلُّ الفَوَائِدْ فِي صُحْبَتِنَا

Naḥnu al-ʾasāʾid lanā shawāhid, Kullu al-fawāʾid fī ṣuḥbatinā

We are the lions; we have proofs; all benefits are in our company.
