Man Mithlu Ahmad

Allāh Allāhu Allāh Allāhu, Allāh Allāhu tabāraka Allāhu

Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah: blessed is Allah!

Man mithlu aḥmada fī al-kawnayni nahwāhu, Badrun jamīʿu al-warā fī ḥusnihi tāhū

Who is like Ahmad in both worlds, whom we love? A full moon in whose beauty all creation is lost.

Man mithluhu waʾilahu al-ʿarshi sharrafahu, Bi-al-khalqi wa-al-khulqi inna Allāha aʿṭāhu

Who is like him, whom the God of the Throne honoured with beauty of form and of character? Allah gave him this.

Wa-ash-shamsu takhjalu min anwāri ṭalʿatihi, Ḥārat ʿuqūlu al-warā fī fahmi maʿnāhu

The sun is abashed before the lights of his face; the minds of creation are bewildered in grasping his meaning.

Tabāraka Allāhu mā aḥlā shamāʾilahu, Ḥāza al-jamāla famā abhā muḥayyāhu

Blessed be Allah, how sweet are his qualities! He won all beauty; how radiant is his face!

Yā ʿurba wādī an-naqā yā ahla kāẓimatin, Fī ḥayyikum qamarun fī al-qalbi mathwāhu

O Arabs of the valley of al-Naqa, O people of Kazima, in your encampment is a moon whose dwelling is in the heart.

Ṣallā ʿalayhi ilahu al-ʿarshi mā ṭalaʿat, Shamsun wamā ḥadḥada al-ḥādī maṭāyāhu

May the God of the Throne bless him as long as the sun rises and the camel-driver urges on his mounts.

Allāhu bi-al-madḥi lilmukhtāri manna ʿalayy, ʿasā yurā liya bayna al-mādiḥiyna ḥalay

Allah has favoured me with praise of the Chosen One; perhaps an adornment will be seen on me among those who praise him.

Idhā ataytu liʾaqrā aṣ-ṣuḥfa min ʿamaliy, Mālī siwā man lahu faḍlun yushiyru ilayya

When I come to read the pages of my deeds, I have no one but the one of grace to point to me.

Muḥammadun sayyidu al-kawnayni wa-ath-thaqalayni, Wa-al-farīqayni min ʿurbin wamin ʿajami

Muhammad, master of both worlds and of jinn and men, and of both groups, Arabs and non-Arabs.

Huwa al-ḥabību al-ladhī turjā shafāʿatuhu, Likulli hawlin mina al-ʾahwāli muqtaḥami

He is the beloved whose intercession is hoped for in every terror that must be plunged into.

Nabiyyunā al-ʾāmiru an-nāhī falā aḥadun, Abarra fī qawli lā minhu walā naʿami

Our Prophet, who commands and forbids; there is no one more truthful in saying "no" or "yes" than he.

Ka-az-zahri fī tarafin wa-al-badri fī sharafin, Wa-al-baḥri fī karamin wa-ad-dahri fī himami

Like a flower in delicacy, the full moon in honour, the sea in generosity, and time itself in resolve.

Yā rabbi bi-al-muṣṭafā balligh maqāṣidanā, Waghfir lanā mā maḍā yā wāsiʿa al-karami

O Lord, by the Chosen One, fulfil our aims, and forgive us what has passed, O You of vast generosity.

Waghfir ilahī likulli al-muslimīna bimā, Yatlūna fī al-masjidi al-ʾaqṣā wafī al-ḥarami

And forgive, my God, all Muslims, by what they recite in al-Aqsa Mosque and in the Sanctuary,

Bijāhi man baytuhu fī ṭaybatin ḥaramun, Wasmuhu qasamun min aʿẓami al-qasami

By the rank of the one whose house in Tayba is a sanctuary, and whose name is an oath among the greatest of oaths.
