مَا زَمْزَمَ الحَادِي وَمَا تَرَنَّمْ

الرَّبُّ صَلَّى دَائِماً وَسَلَّمْ أَلَا يَا اللهعَلَى المُكَرَّمْ شَيْءْ لِلّه

Ar-rabbu ṣallā dāʾiman wasallam alā yā Allāh, ʿalā al-mukarram shayʾ lillāh

May the Lord send blessings and peace forever, oh Allah, upon the honoured one, for Allah's sake!

بِذِكْرِ طَهَ المُجْتَبَى انْجَلَى الهَمّ أَلَا يَا اللهوَالأُنْسْ خَيَّمْ شَيْ لِله

Bidhikri ṭaha al-mujtabā njalā al-hamm alā yā Allāh, Wa-al-ʾuns khayyam shay lillāh

By the remembrance of Taha the elect, worry is dispelled, oh Allah, and intimacy pitches its tent, for Allah's sake!

ذِكْرُهْ لِأَدْوَاءِ القُلُوبْ مَرْهَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهيَشْفِي مِنَ السَّمّ شَيْ لِله

Dhikruh liʾadwāʾi al-qulūb marham alā yā Allāh, Yashfī mina as-samm shay lillāh

His remembrance is balm for the ailments of hearts, oh Allah, it heals from poison, for Allah's sake!

صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ مَغْنَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهتُنْجِي مِنَ الغَمّ شَيْ لِله

Ṣallū ʿalayhi inna aṣ-ṣalāta maghnam alā yā Allāh, Tunjī mina al-ghamm shay lillāh

Send blessings upon him, for blessings are a prize, oh Allah, they save from grief, for Allah's sake!

عَلَيْهِ رَبِّي فِي القُرْآنِ الأَقْدَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهصَلَّى وَسَلَّمْ شَيْ لِله

ʿalayhi rabbī fī al-qurʾāni al-ʾaqdam alā yā Allāh, Ṣallā wasallam shay lillāh

Upon him my Lord, in the eternal Qur'an, oh Allah, sent blessings and peace, for Allah's sake!

مَدْحُهْ وَذِكْرُهْ فِي الكِتَابِ يُتْلَى أَلَا يَا اللهعَلَيْهِ صَلَّى شَيْ لِله

Madḥuh wadhikruh fī al-kitābi yutlā alā yā Allāh, ʿalayhi ṣallā shay lillāh

His praise and his mention are recited in the Book, oh Allah; Allah blessed him, for Allah's sake!

وَفِي الرِّسَالَةْ قِدْحُهُ المُعَلَّى أَلَا يَا اللهمَجْلَاهْ مَجْلَى شَيْ لِله

Wafī ar-risāla qidḥuhu al-muʿallā alā yā Allāh, Majlāh majlā shay lillāh

In the message his is the winning arrow, oh Allah; his appearance is radiant, for Allah's sake!

يَبْلَى الزَّمَنْ وَالوَصِفْ لَيْسَ يَبْلَى أَلَا يَا اللههَيْهَاتَ مَهْلَا شَيْ لِله

Yablā az-zaman wa-al-waṣif laysa yablā alā yā Allāh, Hayhāta mahlā shay lillāh

Time wears out, but his description does not wear out, oh Allah; far from it, gently now, for Allah's sake!

وَاللهْ مَا حَدْ عَنْ عُلَاهْ تَرْجَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهكَلَّا وَلَا شَمّ شَيْ لِله

Wallāh mā ḥad ʿan ʿulāh tarjam alā yā Allāh, Kallā walā shamm shay lillāh

By Allah, no one has rendered his loftiness, oh Allah, no, nor caught its scent, for Allah's sake!

يَا بَهْجَتِي يَا طِبَّ كُلِّ الأَجْرَاحْ أَلَا يَا اللهيَا نُورَ الأَرْوَاحْ شَيْ لِله

Yā bahjatī yā ṭibba kulli al-ʾajrāḥ alā yā Allāh, Yā nūra al-ʾarwāḥ shay lillāh

O my joy, O healer of every wound, oh Allah, O light of spirits, for Allah's sake!

يَا مَنْ لِأَبْوَابِ الفَلَاحِ مِفْتَاحْ أَلَا يَا اللهيَا عَيْنَ الأَرْبَاحْ شَيْ لِله

Yā man liʾabwābi al-falāḥi miftāḥ alā yā Allāh, Yā ʿayna al-ʾarbāḥ shay lillāh

O you who are the key to the doors of success, oh Allah, O source of all gains, for Allah's sake!

يَا مَنْ لَنَا ذِكْرُهْ سُرُوْرْ وَافْرَاحْ أَلَا يَا اللهوَالهَمُّ يَنْزَحْ شَيْ لِله

Yā man lanā dhikruh suruwr wafrāḥ alā yā Allāh, Wa-al-hammu yanzaḥ shay lillāh

O you whose remembrance is joy and delight for us, oh Allah, and worry departs, for Allah's sake!

وَصْلَكْ جَنَانِي وَالجَفَا جَهَنَّمْ أَلَا يَا اللهوَأَنْتَ تَعْلَمْ شَيْ لِله

Waṣlak janānī wa-al-jafā jahannam alā yā Allāh, Waʾanta taʿlam shay lillāh

Union with you is my Paradise and estrangement my Hell, oh Allah, and you know it, for Allah's sake!

لِي رُوحْ تَحْيَا عِنْدَ ذِكْرِ طَهَ أَلَا يَا اللههَذَا دَوَاهَا شَيْ لِله

Lī rūḥ taḥyā ʿinda dhikri ṭaha alā yā Allāh, Hadhā dawāhā shay lillāh

I have a spirit that comes alive at the mention of Taha, oh Allah; this is its cure, for Allah's sake!

أَسْمَى البَرَايَا رُتْبَةً وَجَاهَا أَلَا يَا اللهلَا تَتَنَاهَى شَيْ لِله

Asmā al-barāyā rutbatan wajāhā alā yā Allāh, Lā tatanāhā shay lillāh

Loftiest of creation in rank and standing, oh Allah, without end, for Allah's sake!

عَبْدٌ بِهِ امْلَاكُ السَّمَا تَبَاهَى أَلَا يَا اللهحَاشَا يُضَاهَى شَيْ لِله

ʿabdun bihi mlāku as-samā tabāhā alā yā Allāh, Ḥāshā yuḍāhā shay lillāh

A servant in whom the angels of heaven take pride, oh Allah; far be it that he be equalled, for Allah's sake!

هَيْهَاتْ أَنْ يُحْصِي مَنَاقِبُهْ فَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهفَالْأَمْرُ أَعْظَمْ شَيْ لِله

Hayhāt an yuḥṣī manāqibuh fam alā yā Allāh, Fa-al-ʾamru aʿẓam shay lillāh

Far be it that any mouth should count his virtues, oh Allah, for the matter is greater, for Allah's sake!

سَالَكْ بِطَهَ خِيرَةِ الخِيَارِ أَلَا يَا اللهيَا خَيْرَ بَارِي شَيْ لِله

Sālak biṭaha khīrati al-khiyāri alā yā Allāh, Yā khayra bārī shay lillāh

I ask You by Taha, the choicest of the chosen, oh Allah, O best Creator, for Allah's sake:

اِسْمَعْ دُعَائِي وَاقْبَلْ اِعْتِذَارِي أَلَا يَا اللهوَأَقِلْ عِثَارِي شَيْ لِله

Ismaʿ duʿāʾī waqbal iʿtidhārī alā yā Allāh, Waʾaqil ʿithārī shay lillāh

Hear my prayer and accept my apology, oh Allah, and lift my stumbling, for Allah's sake!

إِنِّي بِحِلْمِكْ عَنْ قَبِيحِ عَارِي أَلَا يَا اللهزَادَ اغْتِرَارِي شَيْ لِله

Innī biḥilmik ʿan qabīḥi ʿārī alā yā Allāh, Zāda ghtirārī shay lillāh

Because of Your forbearance with my ugly shame, oh Allah, my delusion has grown, for Allah's sake!

فَعَادَتُكْ لِمَنْ أَسَاءْ وَأَجْرَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهتَغْفِرْ وَتَرْحَمْ شَيْ لِله

Faʿādatuk liman asāʾ waʾajram alā yā Allāh, Taghfir watarḥam shay lillāh

Your custom with whoever does wrong and sins, oh Allah, is to forgive and have mercy, for Allah's sake!

حَاشَاكْ تَحْرَمْ مَنْ بِهِ تَشَفَّعْ أَلَا يَا اللهفَضْلَكْ وَتَمْنَعْ شَيْ لِله

Ḥāshāk taḥram man bihi tashaffaʿ alā yā Allāh, Faḍlak watamnaʿ shay lillāh

Far be it from You to deny the one who seeks intercession through him, oh Allah, Your bounty, and to withhold it, for Allah's sake!

جِينَاكَ رَاجِينَ القَبُولْ خُضَّعْ أَلَا يَا اللهوَالجُودُ أَوْسَعْ شَيْ لِله

Jīnāka rājīna al-qabūl khuḍḍaʿ alā yā Allāh, Wa-al-jūdu awsaʿ shay lillāh

We have come to You, hoping for acceptance, humbled, oh Allah, and generosity is vaster, for Allah's sake!

ضَفَا عَلَى كُلِّ الوَرَى مُنَوَّعْ أَلَا يَا اللهفِي الكَوْنِ أَجْمَعْ شَيْ لِله

Ḍafā ʿalā kulli al-warā munawwaʿ alā yā Allāh, Fī al-kawni ajmaʿ shay lillāh

It has spread abundantly over all creation in its variety, oh Allah, throughout all existence, for Allah's sake!

فَفِيهِ قَدْ عَاشُوا فَصِيحْ وَاعْجَمْ أَلَا يَا اللهوَاللهُ أَعْلَمْ شَيْ لِله

Fafīhi qad ʿāshū faṣīḥ waʿjam alā yā Allāh, Wallāhu aʿlam shay lillāh

In it they have lived, the eloquent and the inarticulate, oh Allah; and Allah knows best, for Allah's sake!
