لُذْ بِالنَّبِيِّ وَبِالأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَنِي

لُذْ بِالنَّبِيِّ وَبِالأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَنِيعَلَوِيٍّ الغُرِّ الهُدَاةِ الحَائِرِ

Ludh bi-an-nabiyyi wabi-al-ʾaʾimmati min banī, ʿalawiyyin al-ghurri al-hudāti al-ḥāʾiri

Take refuge in the Prophet and in the imams of the sons of 'Alawi, the radiant guides of the perplexed.

فَهُمُ الخُلَاصَةُ مِنْ سُلَالَةِ أَحْمَدٍوَمَعِينُ فَيَّاضِ النَّدَى المُتَوَاتِرِ

Fahumu al-khulāṣatu min sulālati aḥmadin, Wamaʿīnu fayyāḍi an-nadā al-mutawātiri

They are the very essence of Ahmad's lineage, the spring of overflowing, unbroken generosity,

وَالآخِذُو إِرْثِ الرَّسُولِ إِجَازَةًوَتَلَقِّياً مِنْ كَابِرٍ عَنْ كَابِرِ

Wa-al-ʾākhidhū irthi ar-rasūli ijāzatan, Watalaqqiyan min kābirin ʿan kābiri

Who received the Messenger's inheritance by licence and by transmission, elder from elder,

وَالمُقْتَفُونَ سَبِيلَهُ قَدَماً عَلَىقَدَمٍ إِلَى القَدَمِ الشَّرِيفِ الطَّاهِرِ

Wa-al-muqtafūna sabīlahu qadaman ʿalā, Qadamin ilā al-qadami ash-sharīfi aṭ-ṭāhiri

Who follow his path, step upon step, up to his noble and pure foot itself,

حَتَّى انْتَهَى سِرُّ النَّبِيِّ مُسَلْسَلاًفِيهِمْ إِلَى أَهْلِ الزَّمَانِ الحَاضِرِ

Ḥattā ntahā sirru an-nabiyyi musalsalan, Fīhim ilā ahli az-zamāni al-ḥāḍiri

Until the Prophet's secret reached, in an unbroken chain among them, the people of the present age.

يَرْوُونَ عَنْ آبَائِهِمْ عَنْ جَدِّهِمْعَنْ جَبْرَئِيلَ عَنِ العَزِيزِ الفَاطِرِ

Yarwūna ʿan ʾābāʾihim ʿan jaddihim, ʿan jabraʾīla ʿani al-ʿazīzi al-fāṭiri

They narrate from their fathers, from their grandfather, from Gabriel, from the Mighty Originator.

وَهُمُ بُحُورُ العِلْمِ فَاضَ أَذِيُّهَامِنْ ذَلِكَ البَحْرِ المُحِيطِ الزَّاخِرِ

Wahumu buḥūru al-ʿilmi fāḍa adhiyyuhā, Min dhalika al-baḥri al-muḥīṭi az-zākhiri

They are oceans of knowledge whose waves overflow from that vast, all-encompassing, surging ocean.

تُحْيَى بِهَا مَوْتَى القُلُوبِ وَلَمْ تَزَلْتَسْقِي حَدَائِقَ كُلِّ قَلْبٍ عَامِرِ

Tuḥyā bihā mawtā al-qulūbi walam tazal, Tasqī ḥadāʾiqa kulli qalbin ʿāmiri

Through them dead hearts are brought to life, and they never cease watering the gardens of every flourishing heart

بِمَعَارِفٍ وَعَوَارِفٍ وَلَطَائِفٍوَعَوَاطِفٍ مِنْ ذِي الجَلَالِ الغَافِرِ

Bimaʿārifin waʿawārifin walaṭāʾifin, Waʿawāṭifin min dhī al-jalāli al-ghāfiri

With knowledge, divine gifts and subtleties, and kindnesses from the Majestic, the Forgiving,

وَمَوَاهِبٍ وَمَنَاقِبٍ وَمَرَاتِبٍوَغَرَايِبٍ وَعَجَايِبٍ لِلنَّاظِرِ

Wamawāhibin wamanāqibin wamarātibin, Wagharāyibin waʿajāyibin lilnnāẓiri

With bounties, virtues and ranks, and rare wonders for whoever looks.

وَبَدَا هُنَاكَ مِنَ الحَقِيقَةِ حَقُّهَافِي سِرِّ سَيْرٍ بَاطِنٍ عَنْ ظَاهِرِ

Wabadā hunāka mina al-ḥaqīqati ḥaqquhā, Fī sirri sayrin bāṭinin ʿan ẓāhiri

There the truth of Reality appeared in the secret of an inward journey beyond the outward,

بِمَشَاهِدٍ تَصْفُو لِكُلِّ مُجَاهِدٍوَمَوَارِدٍ عَذُبَتْ لِكُلِّ مُوَازِرِ

Bimashāhidin taṣfū likulli mujāhidin, Wamawāridin ʿadhubat likulli muwāziri

With visions that grow pure for every striver, and springs made sweet for every helper,

وَمَدَارِكٍ وَمَنَاسِكٍ وَمَسَالِكٍلِلْقَوْمِ لَمْ تُسْلَكْ لِغَيْرِ الضَّامِرِ

Wamadārikin wamanāsikin wamasālikin, Lilqawmi lam tuslak lighayri aḍ-ḍāmiri

And with the insights, rites and paths of the folk, walked by none but the lean ascetic.

وَبِذَلِكَ امْتَزَجَ امْتِزَاجَ الرَّاحِ بِالْــمَاءِ الأَوَائِلُ مِنْهُمُ بِالآخِرِ

Wabidhalika mtazaja mtizāja ar-rāḥi bi-al-, Māʾi al-ʾawāʾilu minhumu bi-al-ʾākhiri

Thereby the first of them blended with the last, as wine blends with water.

فَاسْلُكْ سَبِيلَهُمُ وَزُرْهُمْ وَالْتَزِمْشَرْطَ التَّأَدُّبِ فِي وُقُوفِ الزَّائِرِ

Fasluk sabīlahumu wazurhum wa-at-tazim, Sharṭa at-taʾaddubi fī wuqūfi az-zāʾiri

So follow their path, visit them, and keep the rule of courtesy when you stand before them as a visitor.

ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَآلِهِوَالصَّحْبِ مَا هَبَّ النَّسِيمُ الحَاجِرِي

Thumma aṣ-ṣalātu ʿalā an-nabiyyi waʾālihi, Wa-aṣ-ṣaḥbi mā habba an-nasīmu al-ḥājirī

Then blessings be upon the Prophet and his family and Companions, as long as the breeze blows from al-Hajir.
