خَيْرَ البَرِيَّةْ

خَيْرَ البَرِيَّةْنَظْرَةْ إِلَيَّ

Khayra al-bariyya, Naẓra ilayya

O best of creation, a glance to me!

يَا بَحْرَ فَضْلٍوَتَاجَ عَدْلٍ

Yā baḥra faḍlin, Watāja ʿadlin

O ocean of bounty, and crown of justice,

جُدْ لِي بِوَصْلٍقَبْلَ المَنِيَّةْ

Jud lī biwaṣlin, Qabla al-maniyya

Grant me union before death.

حَاشَاكَ تَغْفُلْعَنَّا وَتَبْخَلْ

Ḥāshāka taghful, ʿannā watabkhal

Far be it from you to neglect us or be miserly,

يَا خَيْرَ مُرْسَلْاِرْحَمْ شَجِيَّا

Yā khayra mursal, Irḥam shajiyyā

O best of messengers, have mercy on a grieving one.

كَمْ ذَا أُنَادِييَا خَيْرَ هَادِي

Kam dhā unādī, Yā khayra hādī

How long have I called, O best of guides?

قَصْدِي مُرَادِيعَطْفًا عَلَيَّ

Qaṣdī murādī, ʿaṭfan ʿalayya

My aim and my desire: kindness toward me.

أُهْدِيكَ حِبِّيصَلَاةَ رَبِّي

Uhdīka ḥibbī, Ṣalāta rabbī

I offer you, my beloved, the blessings of my Lord,

مَادَامَ قَلْبِيبِالذِّكْرِ حَيَّا

Mādāma qalbī, Bi-adh-dhikri ḥayyā

As long as my heart lives by remembrance.
