كَرِّرْ أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Lā ilaha illā Allāh, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

There is no god but Allah, there is no god but Allah.

بِهَا يَثْبُتُ الإِيمَانبِهَا يَحْصُلُ الأَمَان

Bihā yathbutu al-ʾīmān, Bihā yaḥṣulu al-ʾamān

By it faith is made firm, by it safety is attained.

كَرِّر أَيُّهَا الإِنْسَانلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Karrir ayyuhā al-ʾinsān, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

Repeat, O human being: there is no god but Allah.

تَكْرَارُهَا مَا أَحْلَاهمَا أَبْهَاهُ مَا أَعْلَاه

Takrāruhā mā aḥlāh, Mā abhāhu mā aʿlāh

How sweet is its repetition, how splendid, how lofty!

تُدْنِي العَبْدَ مِنْ مَوْلَاهلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Tudnī al-ʿabda min mawlāh, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

It brings the servant near to his Master: there is no god but Allah.

قَدْ أَتَانَا فِي الأَخْبَارعَنِ النَّبِيِّ المُخْتَار

Qad atānā fī al-ʾakhbār, ʿani an-nabiyyi al-mukhtār

It has come to us in the reports from the Chosen Prophet

أَنَّ أَفْضَلَ الأَذْكَارلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Anna afḍala al-ʾadhkār, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

That the best remembrance is: there is no god but Allah.

جَمَعَتْ مَعْنَى التَّوْحِيدوَدَلَّتْ بِلَا مَزِيد

Jamaʿat maʿnā at-tawḥīd, Wadallat bilā mazīd

It gathers the meaning of tawhid, and points to it without addition;

كَرِّرْ أَيُّهَا المُرِيدلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Karrir ayyuhā al-murīd, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

Repeat, O seeker: there is no god but Allah.

ذَاكِرُهَا لَا يَشْقَىلَا يَنَالُ فَرَقَا

Dhākiruhā lā yashqā, Lā yanālu faraqā

The one who remembers it is never wretched, never meets fear;

هِيَ العُرْوَةُ الوُثْقَىلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Hiya al-ʿurwatu al-wuthqā, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

It is the firmest handhold: there is no god but Allah.

هِيَ حِصْنُكَ الْحَصِينهِيَ دِرْعُكَ الْمَتِين

Hiya ḥiṣnuka al-ḥaṣīn, Hiya dirʿuka al-matīn

It is your impregnable fortress, it is your strong armour,

ذِكْرُ رَبِّ العَالَمِينلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Dhikru rabbi al-ʿālamīn, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

The remembrance of the Lord of the worlds: there is no god but Allah.

بِهَا الفَوْزُ وَالنَّجَاةفِيهَا كُلُّ البَرَكَات

Bihā al-fawzu wa-an-najāa, Fīhā kullu al-barakāt

In it are triumph and salvation, in it are all blessings;

تُنْجِي مِنْ كُلِّ الآفَاتلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Tunjī min kulli al-ʾāfāt, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

It saves from every affliction: there is no god but Allah.

بِهَا تُمْحَى السَّيِّئَاتبِهَا تَنْمُو الحَسَنَات

Bihā tumḥā as-sayyiʾāt, Bihā tanmū al-ḥasanāt

By it sins are erased, by it good deeds grow,

بِهَا تُنَالُ الخَيْرَاتلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Bihā tunālu al-khayrāt, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

By it good things are attained: there is no god but Allah.

فِيهَا لِلسُّقْمِ دَوَافِيهَا لِلضَّعْفِ قِوَى

Fīhā lilssuqmi dawā, Fīhā lilḍḍaʿfi qiwā

In it is medicine for sickness, in it is strength for weakness;

هِيَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوَىلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Hiya kalimatu at-taqwā, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

It is the word of piety: there is no god but Allah.

هِيَ شِفَاءُ الصُّدُورهِيَ نُورٌ عَلَى نُور

Hiya shifāʾu aṣ-ṣudūr, Hiya nūrun ʿalā nūr

It is the healing of breasts, it is light upon light,

ذِكْرُ رَبِّكَ الغَفُورلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Dhikru rabbika al-ghafūr, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

The remembrance of your Forgiving Lord: there is no god but Allah.

هِيَ النِّعْمَةُ العُظْمَىهِيَ المَقَامُ الأَسْمَى

Hiya an-niʿmatu al-ʿuẓmā, Hiya al-maqāmu al-ʾasmā

It is the greatest blessing, it is the loftiest station;

لَيْسَ تُبْقِي أَلَمَالَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Laysa tubqī alamā, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

It leaves no pain behind: there is no god but Allah.

هِيَ شِفَاءُ العِلَلْفِيهَا إِصْلَاحُ الخَلَل

Hiya shifāʾu al-ʿilal, Fīhā iṣlāḥu al-khalal

It is the healing of illnesses; in it is the mending of faults;

فَاذْكُرْ لَا تَخْشَ المَلَللَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Fadhkur lā takhsha al-malal, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

So remember, and do not fear weariness: there is no god but Allah.

لَازِمُوهَا يَا إِخْوَاننَوِّرُوا بِهَا الْجَنَان

Lāzimūhā yā ikhwān, Nawwirū bihā al-janān

Hold fast to it, O brothers, illuminate your hearts with it,

إِنَّ مِفْتَاحَ الْجِنَانلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Inna miftāḥa al-jinān, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

For the key to the Gardens is: there is no god but Allah.

لَازِمُوهَا بِالأَسْحَاروَالعَشِيِّ وَالإِبْكَار

Lāzimūhā bi-al-ʾasḥār, Wa-al-ʿashiyyi wa-al-ʾibkār

Hold fast to it before dawn, in the evening and in the morning,

تَسْتَمِدُّوا مِنْ أَنْوَارلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Tastamiddū min anwār, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

And draw support from the lights of: there is no god but Allah.

نَوِّرُوا بِهَا القُلُوبمَحِّصُوا بِهَا الذُّنُوب

Nawwirū bihā al-qulūb, Maḥḥiṣū bihā adh-dhunūb

Illuminate your hearts with it, purge your sins with it,

إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ المَطْلُوبلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Inna aʿẓama al-maṭlūb, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

For the greatest thing sought is: there is no god but Allah.

هِيَ الرَّحْمَةُ الكُبْرَىفِي الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الأُخْرَى

Hiya ar-raḥmatu al-kubrā, Fī ad-dunyā wafī al-ʾukhrā

It is the greatest mercy in this world and the next,

أَعْلَى الأَذْكَارِ أَجْرَالَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Aʿlā al-ʾadhkāri ajrā, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

The highest of remembrances in reward: there is no god but Allah.

لَا تَغْفُلْ عَنْهَا وَلَاتَتْرُك تَنْزِيهَ المَوْلَى

Lā taghful ʿanhā walā, Tatruk tanzīha al-mawlā

Do not be heedless of it, and do not leave off declaring the Master's transcendence,

إِنَّ المَثَلَ الأَعْلَىلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Inna al-mathala al-ʾaʿlā, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

For the highest example is: there is no god but Allah.

حَافِظُوا عَلَى الأَوْقَاتدَاوِمُوا عَلَى الطَّاعَات

Ḥāfiẓū ʿalā al-ʾawqāt, Dāwimū ʿalā aṭ-ṭāʿāt

Keep to the times, persevere in acts of obedience,

تُنْجِيكُمْ مِنَ الآفَاتلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Tunjīkum mina al-ʾāfāt, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

And you will be saved from afflictions by: there is no god but Allah.

يُقَارِنُهَا الإِقْرَاربِرِسَالَةِ المُخْتَار

Yuqārinuhā al-ʾiqrār, Birisālati al-mukhtār

Joined to it is the affirmation of the message of the Chosen One,

مَنْ حَبَانَا مِنْ أَنْوَارلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله

Man ḥabānā min anwār, Lā ilaha illā Allāh

Who gave us of the lights of: there is no god but Allah.

خَيْرُ الخَلْقِ عِنْدَ اللهصَاحِبُ العِزِّ وَالجَاه

Khayru al-khalqi ʿinda Allāh, Ṣāḥibu al-ʿizzi wa-al-jāh

The best of creation with Allah, Possessor of honour and rank,

خَاتَمُ رُسْلِ الإِلَهمُحَمَّد رَسُولُ الله

Khātamu rusli al-ʾilah, Muḥammad rasūlu Allāh

Seal of the messengers of God: Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
