إِنْ كُنْتَ تَغْدُو فِي الذُّنُوبِ جَلِيداً

إِنْ كُنْتَ تَغْدُو فِي الذُّنُوبِ جَلِيداًوَتَخَافُ فِي يَوْمِ المَعَادِ وَعِيدَا

In kunta taghdū fī adh-dhunūbi jalīdan, Watakhāfu fī yawmi al-maʿādi waʿīdā

If you wake each morning hardened in sin, fearing the threat of the Day of Return,

فَلَقَدْ أَتَاكَ مِنَ المُهَيْمِنِ عَفْوُهُوَأَفَاضَ مِنْ نِعَمٍ عَلَيْكَ مَزِيدَا

Falaqad atāka mina al-muhaymini ʿafwuhu, Waʾafāḍa min niʿamin ʿalayka mazīdā

Then know that the pardon of the Guardian has come to you, and He has poured ever more blessings upon you.

لَا تَيْأَسَنَّ مِنْ لُطْفِ رَبِّكَ فِي الحَشَافِي بَطْنِ أُمِّكَ مُضْغَةً وَوَلِيدَا

Lā tayʾasanna min luṭfi rabbika fī al-ḥashā, Fī baṭni ummika muḍghatan wawalīdā

Never despair of your Lord's gentleness with you in the womb, in your mother's belly, as a lump of flesh and as a newborn.

لَوْ شَاءَ أَنْ تَصْلَى جَهَنَّمَ خَالِداًمَا كَانَ أَلْهَمَ قَلْبَكَ التَّوْحِيدَا

Law shāʾa an taṣlā jahannama khālidan, Mā kāna alhama qalbaka at-tawḥīdā

Had He willed that you burn in Hell forever, He would not have inspired your heart to affirm His Oneness.
