إِلَهِي نَسْأَلُكْ بِالِاسْمِ الأَعْظَمْ

إِلَهِي نَسْأَلُكْ بِالِاسْمِ الأَعْظَمْوَجَاهِ المُصْطَفَى فَرِّجْ عَلَيْنَا

Ilahī nasʾaluk biāliāsmi al-ʾaʿẓam, Wajāhi al-muṣṭafā farrij ʿalaynā

My God, we ask You by the Greatest Name, and by the rank of the Chosen One: grant us relief.

بِبِسْمِ اللّٰهِ مَوْلَانَا ابْتَدَيْنَاوَنَحْمَدُهُ عَلَى نَعْمَاهُ فِينَا

Bibismi Allāhi mawlānā btadaynā, Wanaḥmaduhu ʿalā naʿmāhu fīnā

With "In the name of Allah," our Master, we have begun, and we praise Him for His blessings upon us.

تَوَسَّلْنَا بِهِ فِي كُلِّ أَمْرٍغِيَاثِ الخَلْقِ رَبِّ العَالَمِينَا

Tawassalnā bihi fī kulli amrin, Ghiyāthi al-khalqi rabbi al-ʿālamīnā

We seek His nearness in every matter, the Succour of creation, Lord of the worlds,

وَبِالأَسْمَاءِ مَا وَرَدَتْ بِنَصٍّوَمَا فِي الغَيْبِ مَخْزُوناً مَصُونَا

Wabi-al-ʾasmāʾi mā waradat binaṣṣin, Wamā fī al-ghaybi makhzūnan maṣūnā

And by the Names that came in the text, and those stored and guarded in the Unseen,

بِكُلِّ كِتَابٍ أَنْزَلَهُ تَعَالَىوَقُرْآنٍ شِفَا لِلْمُومِنِينَا

Bikulli kitābin anzalahu taʿālā, Waqurʾānin shifā lilmūminīnā

By every Book that the Exalted sent down, and the Qur'an, a healing for the believers.

وَبِالهَادِي تَوَسَّلْنَا وَلُذْنَاوَكُلِّ الأَنْبِيَا وَالمُرْسَلِينَا

Wabi-al-hādī tawassalnā waludhnā, Wakulli al-ʾanbiyā wa-al-mursalīnā

Through the guide we seek nearness and refuge, and through all the prophets and messengers,

وَآلِهِمُ مَعَ الأَصْحَابِ جَمْعاًتَوَسَّلْنَا وَكُلِّ التَّابِعِينَا

Waʾālihimu maʿa al-ʾaṣḥābi jamʿan, Tawassalnā wakulli at-tābiʿīnā

And their families with the Companions, all together, we seek nearness, and through all the Followers.

بِكُلِّ طَوَائِفِ الأَمْلَاكِ نَدْعُوبِمَا فِي غَيْبِ رَبِّي أَجْمَعِينَا

Bikulli ṭawāʾifi al-ʾamlāki nadʿū, Bimā fī ghaybi rabbī ajmaʿīnā

By every rank of the angels we call, by all that is in my Lord's Unseen,

وَبِالعُلَمَا بِأَمْرِ اللهِ طُرًّاوَكُلِّ الأَوْلِيَا وَالصَّالِحِينَا

Wabi-al-ʿulamā biʾamri Allāhi ṭurran, Wakulli al-ʾawliyā wa-aṣ-ṣāliḥīnā

And by all the scholars of Allah's command, and all the saints and the righteous.

أَخُصُّ بِهِ الإِمَامَ القُطْبَ حَقّاًوَجِيْهَ الدِّينِ تَاجَ العَارِفِينَا

Akhuṣṣu bihi al-ʾimāma al-quṭba ḥaqqan, Wajiyha ad-dīni tāja al-ʿārifīnā

I single out in it the imam, truly the Pole, wajih al-Din, crown of the gnostics.

رَقَى فِي رُتْبَةِ التَّمْكِينِ مَرْقَىوَقَدْ جَمَعَ الشَّرِيعَةَ وَاليَقِينَا

Raqā fī rutbati at-tamkīni marqā, Waqad jamaʿa ash-sharīʿata wa-al-yaqīnā

He rose to the station of firm establishment, having joined the Law with certainty.

وَذِكْرُ العَيْدَرُوسِ القُطْبِ أَجْلَىعَنِ القَلْبِ الصَّدَى لِلصَّادِقِينَا

Wadhikru al-ʿaydarūsi al-quṭbi ajlā, ʿani al-qalbi aṣ-ṣadā lilṣṣādiqīnā

And the remembrance of al-'Aydarus, the Pole, has polished the rust from the heart for the sincere;

عَفِيْفِ الدِّينِ مُحْيِي الدِّينِ حَقًّالَهُ تَحْكِيمُنَا وَبِهِ اقْتَدَيْنَا

ʿafiyfi ad-dīni muḥyī ad-dīni ḥaqqan, Lahu taḥkīmunā wabihi qtadaynā

'Afif al-Din, truly the reviver of the religion, in whom we place our trust and whom we follow.

وَلَا نَنْسَى كَمَالَ الدِّينِ سَعْداًعَظِيمَ الحَالِ تَاجَ العَابِدِينَا

Walā nansā kamāla ad-dīni saʿdan, ʿaẓīma al-ḥāli tāja al-ʿābidīnā

Nor do we forget Kamal al-Din Sa'd, mighty in state, crown of the worshippers,

وَنَاظِمَهَا أَبَابَكْرٍ إِمَاماًحَبَاهُ إِلَهُهُ جَاهاً مَكِينَا

Wanāẓimahā abābakrin imāman, Ḥabāhu ilahuhu jāhan makīnā

And its composer, Abu Bakr, an imam whom his God has granted firm standing.

بِهِمْ نَدْعُو إِلَى المَوْلَى تَعَالَىبِغُفْرَانٍ يَعُمُّ الحَاضِرِينَا

Bihim nadʿū ilā al-mawlā taʿālā, Bighufrānin yaʿummu al-ḥāḍirīnā

Through them we call on the Master, the Exalted, for forgiveness that embraces all who are present,

وَلُطْفٍ شَامِلٍ وَدَوَامِ سَتْرٍوَغُفْرَانٍ لِكُلِّ المُذْنِبِينَا

Waluṭfin shāmilin wadawāmi satrin, Waghufrānin likulli al-mudhnibīnā

And all-embracing gentleness and lasting veiling, and forgiveness for all who sin.

وَنَخْتِمُهَا بِتَحْصِينٍ عَظِيمٍبِحَوْلِ اللهِ لَا يُقْدَرْ عَلَيْنَا

Wanakhtimuhā bitaḥṣīnin ʿaẓīmin, Biḥawli Allāhi lā yuqdar ʿalaynā

We seal it with a mighty fortification: by the power of Allah, none can overpower us.

وَسَتْرُ اللهِ مَسْبُولٌ عَلَيْنَاوَعَيْنُ اللهِ نَاظِرَةٌ إِلَيْنَا

Wasatru Allāhi masbūlun ʿalaynā, Waʿaynu Allāhi nāẓiratun ilaynā

The veil of Allah is let down over us, and the eye of Allah watches over us.

وَنَخْتِمُ بِالصَّلَاةِ عَلَى مُحَمَّدْإِمَامِ الكُلِّ خَيْرِ الشَّافِعِينَا

Wanakhtimu bi-aṣ-ṣalāti ʿalā muḥammad, Imāmi al-kulli khayri ash-shāfiʿīnā

And we close with blessings upon Muhammad, imam of all, the best of intercessors.
