Dawini Ya Nura al-Hay

Dāwīnī yā nūra al-ḥay, Dāwīnī wanẓur ilay

Heal me, O light of the encampment, heal me and look upon me.

Yā muḥammad anta al-maḥbūb, Waliʾajlak nilnā al-maṭlūb

O Muhammad, you are the beloved, and for your sake we attained our aim.

Bimadḥak tashtāqu al-qulūb, Tunjīnā biyawmi ad-dīn

Hearts long for your praise; you will save us on the Day of Judgment.

Al-mādiḥ bimadḥu yaqūl, Hawāhu madḥu ar-rasūl

The one who praises says in his praise: his passion is the praise of the Messenger.

Liʾajlih nilnā al-qabūl, Shafāʿa biyawmi ad-dīn

For his sake we attained acceptance, and intercession on the Day of Judgment.

Yā muḥammad anā al-maddāḥ, Wabimadḥak qalbī yartāḥ

O Muhammad, I am the one who praises you, and in praising you my heart finds rest.

Uhdīka masā waṣabāḥ, Ṣalātan liyawmi ad-dīn

I offer you, evening and morning, blessings for the Day of Judgment.

Yā khalāyiq ṣallū ʿalayh, Mawlākum ṣallā ʿalayh

O creatures, send blessings upon him; your Master has sent blessings upon him,

Wa-al-jidhʿu ḥanna ilayh, Min shuwquh anna anīn

And the palm trunk yearned for him, moaning from its longing for him.

Ṣalātun ʿalā al-mukhtār, Wa-al-ʾāli thumma al-ʾanṣār

Blessings upon the Chosen One, and upon his family, then the Ansar,

Wa-aṣ-ṣaḥbi rafīqi al-ghār, Uhdīhā maʿa an-nasrīn

And the Companions, and his companion in the cave; I offer them along with the wild roses.
