Ashraqat Anwar Muhammad

Ashraqat anwār muḥammad, ʿindamā halla ar-rabīʿ

The lights of Muhammad shone forth when the month of Rabi' came in.

Yā lahu mawlūd mumajjad, Ṣānahu Allāhu as-samīʿ

What a glorified newborn, protected by Allah, the All-Hearing!

Laylata al-āthnayni waḍaʿat, ʾāmina khayra al-ʾanām

On Monday night Amina gave birth to the best of mankind;

Maʿ ṭulūʿi al-fajri samiʿat, Annahu wulida ash-shafīʿ

With the break of dawn she heard that the intercessor had been born.
