الْمُزْدَوِجَةُ الْحَسْنَاءُ فِي الِاسْتِغَاثَةِ بِأَسْمَاءِ اللهِ الْحُسْنَى

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي تَحَمَّدَاكَلَّمَ مُوسَى وَاصْطَفَى مُحَمَّدَا

Al-ḥamdu lillāhi al-ladhī taḥammadā, Kallama mūsā waṣṭafā muḥammadā

Praise be to Allah, who is praised, who spoke to Moses and chose Muhammad.

ثُمَّ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ تُهْتَدَىلِخَيْرِ مُرْسَلٍ هَدَى وَسَدَّدَا

Thumma aṣ-ṣalātu wa-as-salāmu tuhtadā, Likhayri mursalin hadā wasaddadā

Then blessings and peace, by which guidance is found, upon the best messenger, who guided and set aright,

وَالْآلِ وَالصَّحْبِ وَمَنْ يَهْدِينَا

Wa-al-ʾāli wa-aṣ-ṣaḥbi waman yahdīnā

And upon the family and Companions, and all who guide us.

بِاسْمِ الْإِلَهِ وَبِهِ بَدِينَاوَلَوْ عَبَدْنَا غَيْرَهُ شَقِينَا

Bismi al-ʾilahi wabihi badīnā, Walaw ʿabadnā ghayrahu shaqīnā

In the name of God, and with Him we have begun; had we worshipped any other, we would be wretched.

يَا حَبَّذَا رَبًّا وَحَبَّ وَدِينَاوَحَبَّذَا مُحَمَّدٌ هَادِينَا

Yā ḥabbadhā rabban waḥabba wadīnā, Waḥabbadhā muḥammadun hādīnā

How excellent a Lord, how beloved a religion, and how excellent is Muhammad, our guide!

لَوْلَاهُ مَا كُنَّا وَلَا بَقِينَا

Lawlāhu mā kunnā walā baqīnā

But for him, we would neither exist nor endure.

اللَّهُمَّ لَوْلَا أَنْتَ مَا اهْتَدَيْنَاوَلَا تَصَدَّقْنَا وَلَا صَلَّيْنَا

Allāhumma lawlā anta mā htadaynā, Walā taṣaddaqnā walā ṣallaynā

O Allah, but for You we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed.

فَأَنْزِلَنْ سَكِينَةً عَلَيْنَاوَثَبِّتِ الْأَقْدَامَ إِنْ لَاقَيْنَا

Faʾanzilan sakīnatan ʿalaynā, Wathabbiti al-ʾaqdāma in lāqaynā

So send down tranquillity upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy.

نَحْنُ الْأُلَى جَاؤُوكَ مُسْلِمِينَا

Naḥnu al-ʾulā jāʾūka muslimīnā

We are the ones who came to You in submission.

وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ قَدْ بَغَوْا عَلَيْنَاإِذَا أَرَادُوا فِتْنَةً أَبَيْنَا

Wa-al-mushrikūna qad baghaw ʿalaynā, Idhā arādū fitnatan abaynā

The idolaters have transgressed against us; whenever they sought sedition, we refused.

وَقَدْ تَدَاعَى جَمْعُهُمْ عَلَيْنَاطِبْقَ الْأَحَادِيثِ الَّتِي رَوَيْنَا

Waqad tadāʿā jamʿuhum ʿalaynā, Ṭibqa al-ʾaḥādīthi al-latī rawaynā

Their hosts have rallied against us, just as the hadiths we have narrated foretold.

فَارْدُدْهُمُ اللَّهُمَّ خَاسِرِينَ

Fardudhumu Allāhumma khāsirīna

So drive them back, O Allah, as losers.

اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَنُ يَا رَحِيمُاللَّهُ يَا حَيُّ وَيَا قَيُّومُ

Allāhu yā raḥmanu yā raḥīmu, Allāhu yā ḥayyu wayā qayyūmu

O Allah, O Most Gracious, O Most Merciful, O Allah, O Living, O Self-Subsisting,

اللَّهُ يَا قَوِيُّ يَا قَدِيمُاللَّهُ يَا عَلِيُّ يَا عَظِيمُ

Allāhu yā qawiyyu yā qadīmu, Allāhu yā ʿaliyyu yā ʿaẓīmu

O Allah, O Strong, O Eternal, O Allah, O High, O Mighty,

لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلظُّلْمِ أَنْ يَعْلُونَا

Lā yanbaghī lilẓẓulmi an yaʿlūnā

It is not fitting that injustice should prevail over us.

اللَّهُ يَا لَطِيفُ يَا عَلِيمُاللَّهُ يَا رَؤُوفُ يَا حَكِيمُ

Allāhu yā laṭīfu yā ʿalīmu, Allāhu yā raʾūfu yā ḥakīmu

O Allah, O Subtle, O All-Knowing, O Allah, O Kind, O Wise,

اللَّهُ يَا تَوَّابُ يَا حَلِيمُاللَّهُ يَا وَهَّابُ يَا كَرِيمُ

Allāhu yā tawwābu yā ḥalīmu, Allāhu yā wahhābu yā karīmu

O Allah, O Ever-Relenting, O Forbearing, O Allah, O Bestower, O Generous,

هَبْنَا الْعُلَا وَاجْعَلْ عِدَانَا الدُّونَا

Habnā al-ʿulā wajʿal ʿidānā ad-dūnā

Grant us the heights, and make our enemies the lowest.

اللَّهُ يَا مَالِكُ يَا مُنِيرُاللَّهُ يَا مَلِيكُ يَا قَدِيرُ

Allāhu yā māliku yā munīru, Allāhu yā malīku yā qadīru

O Allah, O Owner, O Illuminator, O Allah, O King, O All-Powerful,

اللَّهُ يَا مَوْلَى وَيَا نَصِيرُاللَّهُ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ الْكَبِيرُ

Allāhu yā mawlā wayā naṣīru, Allāhu anta al-maliku al-kabīru

O Allah, O Master, O Helper, O Allah, You are the Great King;

لَيْسَ عِدَانَا لَكَ مُعْجِزِينَا

Laysa ʿidānā laka muʿjizīnā

Our enemies cannot escape You.

اللَّهُ يَا شَاكِرُ يَا شَكُورُاللَّهُ يَا عَفُوُّ يَا غَفُورُ

Allāhu yā shākiru yā shakūru, Allāhu yā ʿafuwwu yā ghafūru

O Allah, O Appreciative, O Most Thankful, O Allah, O Pardoning, O Forgiving,

اللَّهُ يَا عَالِمُ يَا خَبِيرُاللَّهُ يَا فَتَّاحُ يَا بَصِيرُ

Allāhu yā ʿālimu yā khabīru, Allāhu yā fattāḥu yā baṣīru

O Allah, O Knower, O All-Aware, O Allah, O Opener, O All-Seeing,

لَا تَحْرِمْنَا فَتْحَكَ الْمُبِينَا

Lā taḥrimnā fatḥaka al-mubīnā

Do not deprive us of Your clear opening.

اللَّهُ يَا ظَاهِرُ يَا جَلِيلُاللَّهُ يَا بَاطِنُ يَا وَكِيلُ

Allāhu yā ẓāhiru yā jalīlu, Allāhu yā bāṭinu yā wakīlu

O Allah, O Manifest, O Majestic, O Allah, O Hidden, O Trustee,

اللَّهُ يَا صَادِقُ يَا جَمِيلُاللَّهُ يَا حَافِظُ يَا كَفِيلُ

Allāhu yā ṣādiqu yā jamīlu, Allāhu yā ḥāfiẓu yā kafīlu

O Allah, O Truthful, O Beautiful, O Allah, O Preserver, O Guarantor,

كُنْ حَافِظًا لَنَا وَكُنْ مُعِينَا

Kun ḥāfiẓan lanā wakun muʿīnā

Be our preserver and be our helper.

اللَّهُ يَا غَنِيُّ يَا حَمِيدُاللَّهُ يَا مُغْنِي وَيَا رَشِيدُ

Allāhu yā ghaniyyu yā ḥamīdu, Allāhu yā mughnī wayā rashīdu

O Allah, O Rich, O Praiseworthy, O Allah, O Enricher, O Guide to the right,

اللَّهُ يَا مُبْدِئُ يَا مُعِيدُاللَّهُ يَا عَزِيزُ يَا مَجِيدُ

Allāhu yā mubdiʾu yā muʿīdu, Allāhu yā ʿazīzu yā majīdu

O Allah, O Originator, O Restorer, O Allah, O Mighty, O Glorious,

لِعِزِّكَ التَّوْحِيدُ يَشْكُو الْهُوْنَا

Liʿizzika at-tawḥīdu yashkū al-huwnā

To Your might the creed of Oneness complains of humiliation.

اللَّهُ يَا قَادِرُ يَا مُقْتَدِرُاللَّهُ يَا قَاهِرُ يَا مُؤَخِّرُ

Allāhu yā qādiru yā muqtadiru, Allāhu yā qāhiru yā muʾakhkhiru

O Allah, O Able, O All-Determining, O Allah, O Subduer, O Delayer,

اللَّهُ يَا فَاطِرُ يَا مُصَوِّرُاللَّهُ يَا مُحْصِي وَيَا مُدَبِّرُ

Allāhu yā fāṭiru yā muṣawwiru, Allāhu yā muḥṣī wayā mudabbiru

O Allah, O Creator, O Fashioner, O Allah, O Reckoner, O Disposer,

دَبِّرْ لَنَا وَدَمِّرِ الْعَادِينَا

Dabbir lanā wadammiri al-ʿādīnā

Arrange our affairs, and destroy the aggressors.

اللَّهُ يَا دَائِمُ لَا يَمُوتُاللَّهُ يَا قَائِمُ لَا يَفُوتُ

Allāhu yā dāʾimu lā yamūtu, Allāhu yā qāʾimu lā yafūtu

O Allah, O Everlasting, who does not die, O Allah, O Sustainer, whom nothing escapes,

اللَّهُ يَا مُحْيِي وَيَا مُمِيتُاللَّهُ يَا مُغِيثُ يَا مُقِيتُ

Allāhu yā muḥyī wayā mumītu, Allāhu yā mughīthu yā muqītu

O Allah, O Giver of life, O Giver of death, O Allah, O Rescuer, O Nourisher,

كُنْ غَوْثَنَا وَحِصْنَنَا الْحَصِينَا

Kun ghawthanā waḥiṣnanā al-ḥaṣīnā

Be our rescue and our impregnable fortress.

اللَّهُ يَا بَاسِطُ أَنْتَ الْوَاسِعُاللَّهُ يَا قَابِضُ أَنْتَ الْمَانِعُ

Allāhu yā bāsiṭu anta al-wāsiʿu, Allāhu yā qābiḍu anta al-māniʿu

O Allah, O Expander, You are the All-Encompassing; O Allah, O Withholder, You are the Preventer;

اللَّهُ يَا خَالِقُ أَنْتَ الْجَامِعُاللَّهُ يَا خَافِضُ أَنْتَ الرَّافِعُ

Allāhu yā khāliqu anta al-jāmiʿu, Allāhu yā khāfiḍu anta ar-rāfiʿu

O Allah, O Creator, You are the Gatherer; O Allah, O Abaser, You are the Exalter:

اِرْفَعْ مَعَالِينَا لِعِلِّيِّينَا

Irfaʿ maʿālīnā liʿilliyyīnā

Raise our ranks to the highest heights.

اللَّهُ ذُو الْمَعَارِجِ الرَّفِيعُاللَّهُ يَا وَافِي وَيَا سَرِيعُ

Allāhu dhū al-maʿāriji ar-rafīʿu, Allāhu yā wāfī wayā sarīʿu

Allah, Lord of the ascending stairways, the Exalted, O Allah, O Faithful, O Swift,

اللَّهُ يَا كَافِي وَيَا سَمِيعُيَا نُورُ يَا هَادِي وَيَا بَدِيعُ

Allāhu yā kāfī wayā samīʿu, Yā nūru yā hādī wayā badīʿu

O Allah, O Sufficient, O All-Hearing, O Light, O Guide, O Wondrous Originator,

أَدَّبْتَنَا بِمَا جَرَى يَكْفِينَا

Addabtanā bimā jarā yakfīnā

You have disciplined us with what has happened; let it suffice us.

اللَّهُ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِاللَّهُ ذُو الطَّوْلِ عَلَى الدَّوَامِ

Allāhu dhū al-jalāli wa-al-ʾikrāmi, Allāhu dhū aṭ-ṭawli ʿalā ad-dawāmi

Allah, Possessor of Majesty and Generosity, Allah, Possessor of bounty forever,

اللَّهُ يَا ذَا الْفَضْلِ وَالْإِنْعَامِوَالسَّيِّدُ الْمُطْلَقُ لِلْأَنَامِ

Allāhu yā dhā al-faḍli wa-al-ʾinʿāmi, Wa-as-sayyidu al-muṭlaqu lilʾanāmi

O Allah, Possessor of grace and blessings, the absolute Master of mankind,

ارْحَمْ عُبَيْدًا لَكَ عَابِدِينَا

Rḥam ʿubaydan laka ʿābidīnā

Have mercy on Your humble servants who worship You.

اللَّهُ يَا أَوَّلُ أَنْتَ الْوَاحِدُاللَّهُ يَا آخِرُ أَنْتَ الرَّاشِدُ

Allāhu yā awwalu anta al-wāḥidu, Allāhu yā ʾākhiru anta ar-rāshidu

O Allah, O First, You are the One; O Allah, O Last, You are the Guide;

يَا وِتْرُ يَا مُتَكَبِّرُ يَا وَاجِدُيَا بَرُّ يَا مُتَفَضِّلُ يَا مَاجِدُ

Yā witru yā mutakabbiru yā wājidu, Yā barru yā mutafaḍḍilu yā mājidu

O Single, O Supreme in Greatness, O Finder, O Kind, O Gracious, O Glorious,

بِفَضْلِكَ اقْبَلْنَا عَلَى مَا فِينَا

Bifaḍlika qbalnā ʿalā mā fīnā

By Your grace, accept us as we are.

اللَّهُ يَا مُبِينُ يَا وَدُودُاللَّهُ يَا مُحِيطُ يَا شَهِيدُ

Allāhu yā mubīnu yā wadūdu, Allāhu yā muḥīṭu yā shahīdu

O Allah, O Clear, O Loving, O Allah, O All-Encompassing, O Witness,

اللَّهُ يَا مَتِينُ يَا شَدِيدُيَا مَنْ هُوَ الْفَعَّالُ مَا يُرِيدُ

Allāhu yā matīnu yā shadīdu, Yā man huwa al-faʿʿālu mā yurīdu

O Allah, O Firm, O Severe, O You who do whatever You will,

إِنَّا ضِعَافٌ لَكَ قَدْ لَجِينَا

Innā ḍiʿāfun laka qad lajīnā

We are weak, and we have sought refuge in You.

اللَّهُ يَا مُعِزُّ يَا مُقَدِّمُاللَّهُ يَا مُذِلُّ يَا مُنْتَقِمُ

Allāhu yā muʿizzu yā muqaddimu, Allāhu yā mudhillu yā muntaqimu

O Allah, O Honourer, O Advancer, O Allah, O Humiliator, O Avenger,

الْبَادِئُ الْبَاقِي فَلَا يَنْعَدِمُالْمُحْسِنُ الْوَالِي الْحَفِيظُ الْأَكْرَمُ

Al-bādiʾu al-bāqī falā yanʿadimu, Al-muḥsinu al-wālī al-ḥafīẓu al-ʾakramu

The Originator, the Everlasting who never ceases, the Benevolent, the Governor, the Preserver, the Most Generous:

لَيْسَ لَنَا سِوَاكَ مَنْ يَحْمِينَا

Laysa lanā siwāka man yaḥmīnā

We have none but You to protect us.

اللَّهُ يَا وَارِثُ أَنْتَ الْأَبَدُاللَّهُ يَا بَاعِثُ أَنْتَ الْأَحَدُ

Allāhu yā wārithu anta al-ʾabadu, Allāhu yā bāʿithu anta al-ʾaḥadu

O Allah, O Inheritor, You are the Eternal; O Allah, O Resurrector, You are the One;

يَا مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ الْإِلَهُ الصَّمَدُلَا كُفُوءٌ لَا وَالِدٌ لَا وَلَدُ

Yā mālika al-mulki al-ʾilahu aṣ-ṣamadu, Lā kufūʾun lā wālidun lā waladu

O Owner of Sovereignty, the God, the Eternal Refuge, with no equal, no father and no child,

كُفَّ الْعِدَا عَنَّا فَقَدْ أُوذِينَا

Kuffa al-ʿidā ʿannā faqad ūdhīnā

Restrain the enemies from us, for we have been harmed.

اللَّهُ يَا غَالِبُ يَا قَهَّارُاللَّهُ يَا نَافِعُ أَنْتَ الضَّارُّ

Allāhu yā ghālibu yā qahhāru, Allāhu yā nāfiʿu anta aḍ-ḍārru

O Allah, O Victorious, O Subduer, O Allah, O Benefiter, You are the One who brings harm;

اللَّهُ يَا بَارِئُ يَا غَفَّارُيَا رَبُّ يَا ذَا الْقُوَّةِ الْجَبَّارُ

Allāhu yā bāriʾu yā ghaffāru, Yā rabbu yā dhā al-quwwati al-jabbāru

O Allah, O Maker, O Forgiving, O Lord, O Possessor of strength, the Compeller,

قَوِّمْ لَنَا الدُّنْيَا وَقَوِّ الدِّينَا

Qawwim lanā ad-dunyā waqawwi ad-dīnā

Set our world aright and strengthen our religion.

اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّةِ السَّلَامُالْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَلَّامُ

Allāhu rabbu al-ʿizzati as-salāmu, Al-muʾminu al-muhayminu al-ʿallāmu

Allah, Lord of might, the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security, the Guardian, the All-Knowing,

ذُو الرَّحْمَةِ الْأَعْلَى الْأَعَزُّ التَّامُّمَنْ دِينُهُ الْحَقُّ هُوَ الْإِسْلَامُ

Dhū ar-raḥmati al-ʾaʿlā al-ʾaʿazzu at-tāmmu, Man dīnuhu al-ḥaqqu huwa al-ʾislāmu

Possessor of the highest, mightiest and most perfect mercy, whose true religion is Islam:

قَيِّضْ لَهُ اللَّهُمَّ نَاصِرِينَا

Qayyiḍ lahu Allāhumma nāṣirīnā

Appoint helpers for it, O Allah.

اللَّهُ أَنْتَ الْمُتَعَالِي الْحَكَمُالْفَرْدُ ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْوَلِيُّ الْأَحْكَمُ

Allāhu anta al-mutaʿālī al-ḥakamu, Al-fardu dhū al-ʿarshi al-waliyyu al-ʾaḥkamu

O Allah, You are the Most Exalted, the Judge, the Unique, Lord of the Throne, the Protector, the Wisest,

الْغَافِرُ الْمُعْطِي الْجَوَادُ الْمُنْعِمُالْعَادِلُ الْعَدْلُ الصَّبُورُ الْأَرْحَمُ

Al-ghāfiru al-muʿṭī al-jawādu al-munʿimu, Al-ʿādilu al-ʿadlu aṣ-ṣabūru al-ʾarḥamu

The Forgiving, the Giver, the Generous, the Bestower of blessings, the Just, Justice itself, the Patient, the Most Merciful,

مَكِّنْ لَنَا فِي أَرْضِنَا تَمْكِينَا

Makkin lanā fī arḍinā tamkīnā

Establish us firmly in our land.

اللَّهُ يَا قُدُّوسُ يَا بُرْهَانُيَا بَرُّ يَا حَنَّانُ يَا مَنَّانُ

Allāhu yā quddūsu yā burhānu, Yā barru yā ḥannānu yā mannānu

O Allah, O Holy, O Proof, O Kind, O Tender, O Bestower of favours,

يَا حَقُّ يَا مُقْسِطُ يَا دَيَّانُتَبَارَكَتْ أَسْمَاؤُكَ الْحِسَانُ

Yā ḥaqqu yā muqsiṭu yā dayyānu, Tabārakat asmāʾuka al-ḥisānu

O Truth, O Equitable, O Judge, blessed are Your beautiful Names!

بِهَا قَرَعْنَا بَابَكَ الْمَصُونَا

Bihā qaraʿnā bābaka al-maṣūnā

Through them we have knocked at Your guarded door.

اللَّهُ يَا خَلَّاقُ يَا مُنِيبُاللَّهُ يَا رَزَّاقُ يَا حَسِيبُ

Allāhu yā khallāqu yā munību, Allāhu yā razzāqu yā ḥasību

O Allah, O Creator, O You who turn to Your servants, O Allah, O Provider, O Reckoner,

اللَّهُ يَا قَرِيبُ يَا رَقِيبُالْمُسْتَعَانُ السَّامِعُ الْمُجِيبُ

Allāhu yā qarību yā raqību, Al-mustaʿānu as-sāmiʿu al-mujību

O Allah, O Near, O Watchful, the One whose help is sought, the Hearer, the Answerer:

إِنَّا دَعَوْنَاكَ اسْتَجِبْ آمِينَا

Innā daʿawnāka stajib ʾāmīnā

We have called on You; answer us. Amen.
