اَلْهِجْرَةُ رِحْلَةُ هَادِيْنَا

اَلْهِجْرَةُ رِحْلَةُ هَادِيْنَاحَمَلَ الْإِسْلَامَ لَنَا دِيْنَا

Al-hijratu riḥlatu hādiynā, Ḥamala al-ʾislāma lanā diynā

The Hijra is the journey of our guide, who carried Islam to us as a religion.

رَحَلَ الصِّدِّيقُ عَنِ الدَّارِفِي صَحْبَةِ خَيْرِ الْأَبْرَارِ

Raḥala aṣ-ṣiddīqu ʿani ad-dāri, Fī ṣaḥbati khayri al-ʾabrāri

Al-Siddiq left his home in the company of the best of the righteous.

صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ تُبَارِكُهُمَلَأَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْأَنْوَارِ

Ṣalawātu Allāhi tubārikuhu, Malaʾa ad-dunyā bi-al-ʾanwāri

May the blessings of Allah bless him; he filled the world with lights.

اَللّٰهُ تَكَفَّلَ يَحْمِيْهِوَعَلِيٌّ أَصْبَحَ يَفْدِيْهِ

Allāhu takaffala yaḥmiyhi, Waʿaliyyun aṣbaḥa yafdiyhi

Allah undertook to protect him, and 'Ali became his ransom,

وَبِسِرِّ الْقَوْمِ الْأَشْرَارِبِنْتُ الصِّدِّيْقِ تُوَافِيْهِ

Wabisirri al-qawmi al-ʾashrāri, Bintu aṣ-ṣiddiyqi tuwāfiyhi

And with news of the wicked folk's plotting Al-Siddiq's daughter would come to him.

وَصَلَ الْمُخْتَارُ إِلَى طَيْبَةْوَالْكُفْرُ تَرَاجَعْ فِي خَيْبَةْ

Waṣala al-mukhtāru ilā ṭayba, Wa-al-kufru tarājaʿ fī khayba

The Chosen One reached Tayba, and disbelief retreated in failure,

وَجُنُوْدُ اللّٰهِ تُحِيْطُ بِهِمِنْ نُوْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ الْهَيْبَة

Wajunuwdu Allāhi tuḥiyṭu bihi, Min nuwri al-ʾislāmi al-hayba

And the soldiers of Allah surrounded him, with the awe of the light of Islam.

بِالرُّوْحِ سَنَحْمِي الْمُخْتَارَاوَنُقَاتِلْ عَنْهُ الْكُفَّارَا

Bi-ar-ruwḥi sanaḥmī al-mukhtārā, Wanuqātil ʿanhu al-kuffārā

With our souls we will protect the Chosen One, and fight the unbelievers in his defence.

عَهْدًا لِلّٰهِ نُبَايِعُهُجُنْدًا لِلّٰهِ وَأَنْصَارَا

ʿahdan lillāhi nubāyiʿuhu, Jundan lillāhi waʾanṣārā

A covenant with Allah: we pledge allegiance to him, as soldiers of Allah and helpers.
